Summary
We all know what is healthy to think and what is not, much like we know that eating an apple is better than gorging on donuts. But once we start thinking anxious thoughts, it is tough to move from disaster to reality. Our brain can ruin our day.
The road map to happiness can be found in Freeing Yourself from Anxiety. Unlike most guides, Dr. Tamar Chansky’s book explains that the solution is not positive thinking but possible thinking. Armed with her strategies, listeners can achieve accurate perceptions of their lives that can liberate them from fear and perfectionism.
For the estimated 25 percent of Americans who have an anxiety problem, Freeing Yourself from Anxiety provides the step-by-step tools for living stress-free, without medications.
TAMAR E. CHANSKY, PHD is a clinical child psychologist, founder and director of the Children’s Center for OCD and Anxiety, and the author of Freeing Your Child from Anxiety. She lives with her husband and two daughters in Philadelphia.

Good book but wasn't for me
I got a feeling this book is meant for people who are struggling with "made-up" problems. I felt that most of the tips boil down to positive thinking and giving less focus on bad things. There is nothing wrong with that, I just hoped that the book would cover more mental tactics on how to deal with concrete, real-life struggles that are mentally taxiing - things that are really there and don't go away just by ignoring them.
That being said the book has a lot of great tips on how to avoid falling into mental traps and how to get out of them. Good read on general. This just wasn't for me.
The narrator is awesome! Her voice is really soft and relaxing to listen to. Probably the best female reader I've heard so far. Great job!

just what I needed
I found this book at the right time. I appreciated the idea of managing anxiety vs.pretending that it does not exist.

Sound advice and logical!
I'd reccommend for anyone caught up in their own worry cycle. This book offers clear steps you can try to free yourself from worry. Its not about ignoring worry...but rewriting the script you own to counter what your brain is wired to do. Based in science.

For clueless and not self aware
Narrator is the only reason I got to Chapter 5. This book is for totally unaware and clueless on their own behavior.
It could all be summed up to "become aware of your feelings amd manage them". If you're completely lost in your emotions or don't know how to train self awareness, then examples amd strategies might be useful. If you are searching for techniques how to manage anxiety that is on much deeper level than "I just blew my presentation in the team meeting", then save yourself credit and 10hours of listening.

The best book I’ve ever read among self-development
The books include how to think, reinterpret and rewire your ways of thinking about the negativities. She gave a lots of examples about how we worry at the same time she showed how to solved it. It really helps getting rid of anxiety.

This is not for those with PTSD
Not for you if you’re suffering with repressed memories, trauma, and possibly living in an abusive relationship ( which requires more lying to yourself that all is well when it isn’t). The only way out is through, not inventing another LaLa land.

Quite good-will listen to it again
Started out as a typical, nothing new, same old same old information, but got very engaging, with exercising and mind opening information. Very good! And modern :)
