About this listen
Over 40 Hours of Romantasy with 9 MMCs and 1 FMC!
Welcome to Fortune Academy, a school where supernaturals can feel at home—except I have no idea what I am.
The last thing I remember is arriving at the massive gates with a Bounty Hunter staring me down. I have a feeling he was supposed to take me to the monster holding arena to fight. Instead, I’m Fortune Academy’s newest student.
I can relate to the monsters in ways the other students can’t. My mentor, who is way too hot for his own good, tells me my behavior is the result of my memory loss and that I’m just trying to identify with a past pain that I’ve buried too far to feel.
I think he’s wrong.
I think the reason I can’t relate to any of the students is because I’m one of the monsters they’re trained to hunt.
I don’t fit into any of the supernatural cliques, and that makes me stand out in the wrong way.
A brawny wolf shifter, a moody dark mage, and a playboy demigod have decided to break me.
They think I don’t have any powers and that I was recruited by mistake.
It’ll be their funeral if they push me too far because I’m holding back. Whatever is buried deep inside me is something dark and dangerous that I can’t let out.
My name is Lily Fallen, but don’t let my pretty face fool you. I’m a monster in a school uniform, and it’s only a matter of time before I teach my bullies a lesson they won’t forget.
Fortune Academy is a complete 10-book collection of the bestselling series by J.R. Thorn, full of spice, snark, and found family in unexpected places.
Epic!

Maybe it's me, but I don't care like I should. Not about Lilly or her mates. The most interest thing happened in the background between two of her mates and it's a side novel, it didn't make it into this book.
I am just disappointed, it had potential but lacked the character build to snare me. I probably wouldn't notice if some of their traits changed because I failed to connect with the group.
Maybe I need to come back to the series, and as the author writes maybe it gets better. But one thing that could of helped. The MMCs POVs, needed it for 10 book series. Without multiple POVs this series should have been condensed, made more intense and wrapped up in 3 books tops

Didn't hold my attention

the main character is not likable, very self centered, and too dumb even for her youth to excuse. She's egotistical and selfish.
I was waiting the whole 2nd book for some development in the story to appear, but it never came, and actually felt like some of the (all-be-it small) storyline from the first book was just abandoned there.
It felt as if there was no point for the majority of the random secondary and tertiary characters, who felt like they'd been thrown in for no reason.
The narrator constantly pronounced simple words wrong. This should have been picked up and corrected at the time, or at very least in edit. She also did not keep different characters voices consistent, including doing a masculine voice for a character who had been revealed earlier to be female, and given a high, feminine voice at the time.
Overall, I'm disappointed. It all felt half-baked and lazy.
Lackluster and predictable
