Story
I left my family and tiny Texas hometown 15 years ago to escape small-town gossips and to give my mom and sister the chance at a better life. But when a phone call from an attorney back home informs me that my sister passed away, leaving me custody of her newborn baby, I'm shocked out of the steady life I've built for myself running a tattoo shop in San Francisco. The thing is: I don't do babies. And I don't do small towns. Or commitment. And I especially don't do family.

Conor: It starts with a drunken text pic. The kind I would normally never send. Only, instead of it going to the flirty hotel bartender, it goes to some random stranger who actually responds. Wells: The first thing I notice about Conor Newell when he sits down in my high-rise conference room is how delightfully nervous he is. Then I see his tie. The same geeky tie that’s held hostage on my phone. The one that belongs to my anonymous late-night texter. And it changes everything.

Story
Is it really wrong to want to murder your boss? Dylan has worked for Gabe for two years. Two long years of sarcastic comments. Two long years of insults, and having to redo the coffee pot four times in the mornings to meet his exacting standards. Not surprisingly he has devoted a lot of time to increasingly inventive ways to murder Gabe. From stabbing him with a cake fork, to garrotting him with his expensive tie, Dylan has thought of everything. However, a chance encounter opens his eyes to the attraction that has always lain between them, concealed by the layers of antipathy.

Being a hit man has its perks, but I never thought getting an accidental mooning by an attractive PI while he’s caught on a fence would be one of them. While it’s not exactly love at first sight, he’s captured my interest and won’t let go. Suddenly, I find myself caught in a game of cat and mouse, determined to attract the attention of Jackson, the PI who should be my enemy. He pretends like he’s not flattered by my flowers and the mentions of my totally-not-fictitious blow-up doll, Randy (or was it Dandy?), but I know better.

When we were kids, Xavier Price understood horses, but somehow, he got me too. He'd made me feel like I wasn't just the overdressed, too sensitive 15-year-old geek who loved math and didn't always say the right thing. But all that changed the night he threw my trust back in my face and betrayed my family in the worst kind of way. And while I'm back in Eden to make sure my uncle's horse ranch is operating in the black, the one thing I know I won't have to deal with is the man who'd been on the verge of stealing my heart 10 years ago.

He promised to never leave me. But when I needed him the most, that was exactly what he did. Wilderness guide Xander Reed has spent fifteen years trying to forget the night he turned to his best friend in his darkest hour, only to find the young man who'd sworn to always have his back was turning his on Xander instead. Two thousand miles and fifteen years of building a new life in the quiet backcountry of the Rocky Mountains should have been enough to put the memory of Bennett Crawford out of his mind.

Great performance on a terrible story

Summary
Sassy-mouthed Stevie Devore has always had a crush on the local fire chief. Gorgeous, silver fox Evan Paige is way out of Stevie's league, however, not to mention the chief has always been a ladies' man, but when Stevie turns 21, he decides he's tired of only daydreaming about Evan. He wants a real taste of that sugar daddy, even if it means turning the flirt factor up a notch or 10 to make it happen. This story has pee-in-your-pants humor, peel-the-paint-off-the-walls steam, and a smidgie-poo of hand-on-chest swooning.

So hilarious
OMG I adored this book. One of my all time favourites in book form, and now my favourite audiobooks. I am a big fan of Lucy Lennox, especially her Forever Wilde series, and this audiobook introduced me to Michael Pauley - lord he is incredible.
This short tells the story of Hobie's biggest flirt, Steve, as he finally gets his HEA! It's flirty, funny, and sexy. One I listen to time and again, especially when I need cheering up!
I cannot fault this audiobook in any way - except may be I wish it was longer so I could get more Stevie! :)
Loved it.

Meet cute
I love the Forever Wilde series and Stevie has been such a fun character that we've gotten to know. This tale is an insight into where he comes from and what life has been like for him under the thumb of his older brother. Chief Paige has seen Stevie at his most vulnerable and has resisted his attraction for the boy until he becomes a man. Michael Pauley does an awesome job of bringing these two characters to life and the Sassy best friend too. A lovely, fun listen when you need a bit of cheer and sparkle in your life.

I'm not a big fan of novellas unless they are an addition to another book and sadly this one was not. This is Stevie's book and I know he got a novella cause he isn't a Wilde but I just can't get lost in the love story when I only have 2 hours and very little details. with that said, I still enjoyed this book, I just didn't feel it.
Michael Pauley is good.

It was okay
A sassy virgin and a fire chief. It sure has the potential for some real fireworks. Stevie is the town flirt and is known for turning his charms on everything's that's alive. This time he has a target, the fire chief whom he's had his eyes on for a while now. Ad hopefully the Chief will introduce him to the wonders of sex and love making. Stevie and Evan's relationship didn't feel quite right to me. It felt off in some way. Not only that, they felt off, a bit too inconsistent for it to make sense.
This series have been a bit of a hit or miss for me lately, some of the shine has been dimmed, and this is true for this short story as well. It started off really good, it was fun, quirky and bouncy. There was some sass to it. But then... something happened and it all just faded into something lukewarm to fizzle out completely.
I've listen to and loved Lucy Lennox and Michael Pauley in the past, you know I have. But they just didn't work for me with Flirt. I couldn’t get into Pauley's narration and the story didn't hold my interest for very long. The sad part is that I know that they can, and have, created magical stories but this one just didn't hold up to the prior standard. Pauley wasn't as engaging as he usually is and just didn't bring the book to life.

Another satisfying m/m romance from Lucy Lennox
I am thoroughly enjoying the Forever Wilde series of m/m romance novels. Each story is sexy, sweet, a little salty and very satisfying. Michael Pauly is astounding once again. By far my favorite narrator. Excellent!

A Life Without Stevie is no Life at All
Flirt is a short novella set in the Forever Wilde series. This is Stevie's story as nararated brilliantly by Michael Pauley.
Stevie is in love with the handsome silver fox, Evan Paige. Evan is the responsible, respected fire chief. Stevie has multiple jobs, including working at the bakery Sugar Britches. He is struggling to make ends meet, but is determined to find a way.
For a short story, Flirt is filled with characters we've met before, and situations that only Stevie could get into. Laughs and giggle-snorts are peppered throughout the story.
What we may not have expected is the serious side of Stevie, the family provider. Taking care of his mom and younger sister is the most important part of his life. Falling into a May/December romance was not on his To Do list, no matter how much he was drawn to the older man.
The book is filled with well thought out characters and situations that bring more fullness and heart to the small town of Hobie, Texas. While it is a shorter novella, it is not filled only with fluff and sugar. It is a true addition to the Forever Wilde series. It is not necessary to have read other Forever Wilde books to enjoy Flirt.

Sweet and spicy!
Stevie's story is sweet, sexy, funny and one of a kind like the man himself. There were a few unexpected twists in this fast paced novella. This could have been a full length novel, but was a great read as a short.

A delight
Stevie, Stevie, Stevie. My god I love you. You make me laugh and you make me cry. You give me hope and you make me pull my hair out with your antics. I remember you from all the previous Wilde books set in Hobie, Texas. You’re a fixture at Sugar Britches as well as in the lives of the Wildes. Don’t think I haven’t forgotten how you accidentally let Granpa and Doc’s hound dog near Charlie’s prize Mama and how she got knocked up. Have you found homes for all those beautiful cross breed mutts? And how about dining with Charlie? Did that make Hudson jealous enough? You’re a flirt, and you love that reputation. But that’s not all you are, and it takes Fire Chief Evan Page to see the real you.
After they first make love, Evan seeks clarification of something weird you’ve said:
“But what?”
“No, I love you too, Butt.”
I blinked again. This was going to take some getting used to.
“Evan,” he said softly, “I’m so fucking happy. I get stupid when I’m happy. Forgive me? Well, maybe instead of forgiving me you could just…I don’t know…get used to it. The weirdness, I mean, because it doesn’t really end, it’s kind of permanently attached to my personality.”
My heart burst and broke at the same time. Burst because you’ve finally found someone who loves you and broke because of all the times you’ve been misunderstood by others. You’re a precious soul who has gone through life appearing to be confident, meanwhile hiding some big self-doubts. Only your friend Sassy Wilde has ever seen the true you – until Evan comes along. And despite your flirty reputation, Evan wants to get to know you on a deeper level. Imagine his surprise when he discovers the true generous spirit you are. This May/December romance works so well because despite everything, you have an odd maturity. Due to your family circumstances, you’ve had to grow up fast, taking on far more responsibility than anyone your age should. You’re hesitant to share your burden, but I’m glad the chief is there for you. I love when you say he’s the “solo coin in my spank bank.” Cheeky. And so you.
To say I love your book would be an understatement. I’ve listened to the audio twice and I loved it even more the second time. Michael Pauley gives you just the right amount of sass while performing Evan as the strong yet compassionate man he is. All in all, I’m so glad I got to enjoy your story. And there are more Wilde books in the series and something tells me I haven’t see the last of you.
