Summary

Weston “Major” Marian

After running away at the age of 17, I found a new home in the army. It wasn’t long before my fellow soldiers became my new family, giving purpose to my time in Vietnam.

But everything changes when Doc Wilde joins my medevac crew. A night alone in the jungle after a helicopter crash forces us to rely on each other for survival, the secrets we share cementing a bond between us deeper than any other I’ve known.

Doc begins to play a starring role in my late night fantasies even though I know he can never be anything more than a friend, a brother-in-arms. He’s straight, with a wife and kids back in Texas, and there would be devastating consequences if anyone in the army discovered my secret.

But Doc was never a lifer like me. When our tours end, we go our separate ways. He heads home to his perfect family while I continue to serve. I thought that was the end of our story. Turns out I was wrong.

Liam “Doc” Wilde

When I wind up on the front lines in Vietnam young and afraid, it’s Major Marian who comes to my rescue. He’s tough, brave, and quiet, and he vows to keep me safe. He’s the only reason I make it home to my wife and kids alive.

For some, a friendship like that might have ended once we left the jungle behind, but as time passes, our bond only continues to grow. Years later, when an unexpected illness turns my life upside down, Major is the first person I turn to for help, and he drops everything to rescue me as always.

I soon realize that at every step of my life, Major has been there, by my side, putting me first. All this time he’s been standing in the sidelines, waiting patiently to hand over his heart into my safekeeping.

I never imagined building a life with another man, but seeing Major in this new light is like a revelation. And suddenly I can’t imagine it any other way.

A True Love Story

I can't thank Lucy Lennox enough for listening to her readers and writing the love story of Doc and Granpa Wilde, it was everything it promised to be and so much more.
This emotional story of two men who meet in the turmoil of the Vietnam war, their friendship, loyalty and how their relationship grew over the following five decades was simply beautiful.
This is a book that just had to be written and if you have read/listened to the other books in the Wilde series is a must.
My favourite of all the series! Thank you Lucy, you did Doc and Grandpa proud ❤️

This was the best book in the series for me! I loved getting to know the younger Doc & Grandpa! Their love story was beautiful and hard. They were honest and strong, their relationship grew over such a long time that you couldn't not feel the love between them. Besides saying I loved this book over and over I don't know how else to explain how much I loved this book!

Michael Pauley was great in this one.

The narration brought the love and feels to another level!!

I ADORED this story about Doc and Major (aka Grandpa). The best part of this was truly the most horrific historically: the Vietnam War.

Major Weston Marian falls in love at first sight upon spying his new medic, Liam “Doc” Wilde. Doc is straight, married, and has three kids. Doc falls right into hero worship of the major and the two create a right bond while saving lives and each other.

You could just feel the want oozing from West, but he kept it in check. Their friendship was truly something to behold and it persevered after the war. It even brought Major to work in the farm and ranch and live amongst Doc’s family, wife and kids.

If you’ve read the Wilde series, you know that they are a couple—a long standing one. This story shows us how they got there.

I couldn’t wait for that one moment when Dic looked on Major with different eyes. It felt somewhat sudden, but then I realized that it had been slowing building for near in 10 years. Talk about UST!

After that, the story jumped forward quickly with some skimmed over decades. We come to the end, the present and Lucy Lennox decides to bring the Wilde and Marian clans together. It was a bit crazy, but not as crazy as listening to a sex scene between a 75 and an 86 year old. I just had to pretend that they weren’t that old. I also wondered about the longevity of erections in older men. Does this make me ageist? Maybe.

The narration was STELLAR with Michael Pauley—he rocks this! I’ve only done narration with Lennox books and they are some of my favorite, comfort MM books out there!

Wilde-ly in love with this beautiful story**

I waited for this to come out on audio instead of cracking open the book. Let me just say....What a story!!! Thank you Michael Pauley for bringing our favorites to life. Well done!!!
I laughed and cried and felt every emotion! It was a beautiful story and that last epilogue scene..? Too funny!!! Was the perfect way to bring all our familiar characters together and it felt like I was there, enjoying the ribbing and love. You’re amazing, Lucy Lennox!!! I’m hoping you have just one more story (Ammon) up your sleeve. Thank you for creating this world and lovable, imperfect, real characters for us to get to know and enjoy. I am now going back to review/listen to my old “friends” story’s again! Love, love, love the Marian/Wilde world!!!

Wonderful, heartfelt story!

Have enjoyed the Made Marian and Forever Wilde stories and to have these two series combined was wonderful. The back story of Doc and Grampa was touching and truly wonderful. The acceptance and love from Doc's family to the Major was sweet and how the love between the two grew made me melt. Really a wonderful read.

Happy tears

Got me! Michael Pauley delivers everytime! Lucy's words were so beautiful that my eyes were flooded with joy. So much so i couldnt see the road. I particularly loved how every other character from previous stories were included in this one. It's like that warm feeiling you get when you see old friends....amazing!

I didn't think that she could do it.

This might be the best one yet. Lucy Lennox outdid herself on this one. I would consider retitling this book "Made Wilde". The story line is great. Having every member of both families in the story is amazing. The epilogue is almost slapstick. Love and humor abound. Joy and even sadness trendsend the need to suspend disbelief in favor of simple believability. My only wish is that in the future we are taken back to the leap taken from Stonewall to 2015. A lot happened to the two families during that time that I really want to see. As always Michael Pauly did a fantastic reader's theater performance. I have read and heard the story. Next we will do a read along. Thank you Lucy.
