Story
It's been a week since Sang has attended any classes at Ashley Waters, and since then, everything has changed. Her school schedule has been turned upside down, and now, thanks to her absences, the school counselor, Ms. Wright, has suspended her. The fear of school officials getting further involved and looking to contact her parents has Sang and the boys forced into their best behavior. It seems that the once perfect student, Sang Sorenson, is now one of the school's worst, and without explanation, because she needs to keep her lips tightly sealed.

My name is Alexis, though everyone calls me Lexie. I'm a necromancer. We're rare enough that I've never met another in my life, until Claire came home to tell me she found one. In New Orleans. Now, I am headed south with my best friends, staying in close quarters with five guys, four guys whom I have kissed, one who has been ignoring me for the last few weeks, one who keeps sneaking kisses, one who doesn't even remember it, and another...well, I don't know what he wants. Thank God for Miles. He's my one safe place in this disaster I've created.

Hi, I'm Alexis Delaney. I'm your average 17-year-old girl. Except I can see the dead. And talk to the dead and help them move on. So...okay, I'm not your average 17-year-old girl. Right now, the Veil is shut off, and the Way is closed. Which means the dead can't move on, so, they are camping out on my lawn. I'm trying to open the Way, juggle school and, well, deal with my feelings for two of my best friends.

My name is Alexis, though everyone calls me Lexie. I'm a Necromancer. I see the dead, talk to them, and help them move on. Well, I used to. Now, with the Veil closed, I'm the only way for a soul to cross over. It's wearing me out, and according to my doctor, it's going to kill me. I don't know how to tell the guys. I'm working on it, but there is so much going on right now; Isaac's acting strange, Ethan's worried that his brother isn't eating or sleeping, Asher's dad is back, and Tara is still snooping around my bedroom. My symptoms are getting worse, and we're running out of time.
Summary
From USA Today best-selling author CL Stone, listen to First Days, the second book in The Academy Ghost Bird Series.
Sang Sorenson used to be the invisible girl in class. As a new student to Ashley Waters High School, Sang hopes that her new friends will be the change she's been craving and will make fitting in a breeze. But Academy students aren't there to take it easy. The high school is overcrowded and rife with violence. When fights begin, Sang will uncover the true reason the boys traded in their private school life for a public one. This year, Sang will no longer be invisible. This year, Sang is a target. The principal and vice principal are hot to take Sang down, and her own mother is determined to entrap Sang forever in her belief that the safest place to be is in the shadows. Despite this, Nathan, Luke, Kota, North, Silas, Victor, and Gabriel will discover Sang's unyielding loyalty. And they will sorely need it. The Academy, supremely influential.

Loved this book
I really enjoyed the narration and storyline of this, the second book in the Ghost Bird series. We get to know Sang and the Academy boys a little better; we know there are more problems at the school than just bad students but we don't know what exactly those problems mught be. We learn a secret about Sang which could explain somewhat her parents' attitude towards her and it ends, not precisely on a cliffhanger, but there's certainly no real resolution so you do need to go forward to the next book (which is okay because I have that one already).
I loved the pixel/ print version of this book and enjoyed (& will listen again to) the audio version. Sometimes Sang came across as more highstrung in the narration than she had in my head but that's my only real quibble.

Best series ever!
Fantastic second book in this awesome series! Now that Sang and the guys have started school, Ashley Waters HS is proving to be one problem after another. But she’s getting closer with the seven of them and even getting to know Dr. Green and Mr. Blackbourne, which makes her very happy. But trouble seems to follow Sang wherever she goes.
The best part was probably the “A Report” at the end of the book...just wow!
Natalie is doing a great job with the narration!
