Summary

From USA TODAY Bestselling Author, C. L. Stone, listen to Friends vs. Family, the third book in The Academy Ghost Bird Series.

Sang Sorenson is forced to suffer through another of her mother's extreme punishments. It almost kills her.

The Academy boys vow it will be the last. They're determined to keep Sang safe, especially from her own family. Their solution: complete invasion of her life. Kota, Luke, Silas, Nathan, Victor, Gabriel and North do everything within their power to show Sang what true loyalty means. It takes more than blood to make a family and they want Sang in theirs.

In this third book of The Academy series Sang experiences a taste of freedom and what it's like to truly be cared for...to be wanted. Sang learns a bit more about the boys' broken families and the boys discover more than they could ever have bargained for about Sang's. The Academy was the answer to their problems. Could it be hers?

Sang's actions will force her mother to reveal a startling truth. A truth that will change Sang's life and the boys' lives in unpredictable ways. Forever.

The Academy, allegiance.

Excellent narration of bk 3 in Ghost Bird series

I have the whole series so far in pixels and print and, after hearing Natalie Eaton's narration of book 1, decided that I would get the other audio books in the series as so far they are very well done. Sang and the boys get to know each other better and we see more of her interaction with them and also her mother and sister. There are some dark moments revolving around how Sang is treated by her mother, and her mother's attitude towards her is explained at the climax of the book - not justified, but rather her skewed viewpoint is explained. The romance between the boys and Sang is very slow burn; she feels affection for them and they for her but it's still nascent enough that it's sitting in the box of close friendship and it's nice to see it develop gradually as Sang works out what she wants as she moves away from her mother's abusive control. I love the different voices used for the characters; I know exactly who's speaking just by Natalie's narration which is excellent. I'm really enjoying the whole experience of listening to these novels and will give others by this author and narrator a go as well.

Missed double perfomer

It was good however i really missed the other performance in introduction and first days... having a female and male voice was really great since there's so much interaction between one girl and 9 guys. Also on some amazing way the male voice was able to personalize each on!!! Personally i would prefer to the other version even if this version was good but compared to before it didn't get close

I like this story

I already read the book so I know that I love the story and the narrator did an good job but I really would have preferred to hear a guy doing the guys voice like the original 1st and 2nd book audible. sometimes when the guys voice was done I felt it was ( I won't say it's bad but just strange I guess). that's really the only thing that bugged me. the narrator did an awesome job at the female voices and the narrating.

So sweet!

These books are great! Natalie Eaton did an amazing job at making each character's voice differentiate. She did an fantastic job with the boys voices. Quite impressive. C.L. Stone never fails at providing flawless writing that will keep you at the edge of your seat craving more and more. The individual relationships that Sang has with each of the boys is so unique. Her tenderness is so sweet. I cannot wait to begin the next book!

Love this series!!

I love this series and I liked the first two audio books but I didn’t realize that they had changed narrators before buying this one. Let’s just say I was very disappointed in the performance. I don’t believe I will get any of the other books if narrated by the same person. Just disappointed!

The performance makes this come to life

True voice acting makes the Academy Ghostbird series live. This is like listening to a movie rather than reading a book. The delineated voices makes it easier to comprehend each character. I found that I misread or misappropriated quotes to different characters especially in the beginning. But the audio makes this problem non existent. I quickly bought everyone to accompany the full series I already own in it's original format.

My Negative Opinion But I Still Like The Series.

Good book to listen to. Unfortunately, I am not a fan of the female protagonist. Third book in series and she is still the same naive girl who makes the dumbest excuses for how she is treated by her selfish and cruel family. She is tired of how her father has ignored her and decides to finally argue with him. Yet, she lets her fake mom punish her and her sister treat her horribly and she just accepts it. Here is a group of boys who are helping her with everything and trying to push her to be a little bit more confident and speak up for herself yet that doesnt happen. She is an frustrating character. There are moments where she did seem to be growing a backbone but that gets shutdown quickly. She is always questioning herself, doubting herself, and putting herself down. I really hope that she grows into a stronger character and has a voice because right now she is still the same from book one. And....Where is the Academy????!!! Who is the Academy??!! Why is the Academy??!! When will we learn???!! Hopefully the next book.

Awful Narrator

Please bring back Holly Brewer and Chris Ensweiler. This new narrator is horrible. All of her sentences sound desperate and she butchers the voices for the boys. Please bring back the original narrators. I love this series, but can't continue to listen to this new girl.

Split recording

The file is split in 2 for easy downloading. Not sure if everyone will have this problem, but it played the second half first. :/ the story was good. Consistent with the previous. Very detailed account and characters well developed.
