Sound is an abstract concept for most people. We spend our lives blocking out the static in order to focus on what we believe is important. But what if, when the clarity fades into silence, it's the obscure background noise that you would give anything to hold on to?

I've always been a fighter. With parents who barely managed to stay out of jail and two little brothers who narrowly avoided foster care, I became skilled at dodging the punches life threw at me. Growing up, I didn't have anything I could call my own, but from the moment I met Eliza Reynolds, she was always mine. I became utterly addicted to her and the escape from reality we provided each other. Throughout the years, she had boyfriends and I had girlfriends, but there wasn't a single night that I didn't hear her voice.

You see, meeting the love of my life at age 13 was never part of my plan. However, neither was gradually going deaf at the age of 21.

They both happened anyway.

Now, I'm on the ropes during the toughest battles of my life.

Fighting the impending silence.

Fighting for her.

Flipping heck! Talk about an emotional roller coaster, sad tears, happy tears, any tears, I was on tender-hooks for the majority of the book wondering what curve ball was going to get thrown into the mix. Told in dual POV, the story follows Eliza Reynolds and Till Page from school days to all the grown up stuff, and what a lot of 'stuff' they have to deal with. Meeting secretly in a run down apartment every evening, but not sharing a life together out of their bubble, arguing, falling in love, separating, wanting more for each other, this book has it all. I loved it!
The narration blew me away. Spot on. I will definitely be looking up other audibles featuring these two. I received a copy of this audiobook at no cost from Audiobook Blast in exchange for an unbiased review.

This is a beautiful and moving story.
And even though I've real a lot of friends to lovers stories, I found it to be very unique and had a refreshing plot.

It was funny and touching, as well as sexy and romantic.

Laura Jennings & Carson Beck did a fantastic job of bringing this story to live through their narrating.

Fighting Silence is a beautiful journey of a friendship becoming love. Their journey is fraught with hardships and family struggles but Till and Eliza are there for each other throughout. As life throws more at them will they risk what they have for more.

Without being spoilery, I will say this: this book is heavy. This book knifes your heart and twists it until you bleed all your pre-conceived ideas about certain topics straight out the window. Beatiful, beautiful, beautiful. I was frustrated, happy, shocked, angry, in love, joyous, heartbroken, sad, exhilarated and awed -- I experienced everything on the emotional palette because this was such a great, solid book. I wanted more, perhaps an extra epilogue to make my greedy heart satisfied but I guess the cleverness and mastery of the book will have to suffice.Till , there are no words for the sheer badassery. almost-insufferable-at-times and others a lovable piece of star-hung perfection. I am a mess. Torn. So, so goddamn conflicted. Broken over the what-ifs of this book. Filled with sorrow. Proud.
I feel manipulated. Tricked. Heartbroken. Educated. Thankful. Mind screwed.But I loved how real it was how raw and gritty.. really enjoyed this book had me in tears at some parts loved the story too and I fell in love with the characters the only thing that I would of changed is not skipping so many years in the beginning because i felt like it jumped over alot of them becoming them but with that it didn't make the story any less enjoyable
