Summary

I come from a family of fighters. I always thought I'd follow in their shadows, becoming unstoppable in the ring. That changed the day I saved the life of a woman I loved, but could never have. My brother hailed me as a hero, and my reward was a wheelchair. Paralyzed, my life became an inescapable nightmare. Until I met her. Ash Mabie had a heart-stopping smile and a laugh that numbed the rage and resentment brewing inside of me. She showed me that even the darkest night still had stars, and it didn't matter one bit that you had to lie in the weeds to see them. I was a jaded asshole who fell for a girl with a knack for running away. I couldn't even walk but I would have spent a lifetime chasing her. Now, I'm on the ropes during the toughest battles of my life. Fighting the shadows of our past. Fighting to reclaim my future. Fighting for her.

Good story!

This audiobook deals with a handicapped hero who is lovesick for his brother's wife and the awkward girl who has never really belonged or been loved by anyone. I enjoyed the story, the characters and loved the ending. Narration was well performed.

Flint and Ash

A beautifully captivating, humorous, and heartfelt story. Flint and Ash were perfectly imperfect. I enjoyed this book. Narration was fantastic!

I am so in love..

Aly Martinez did not disappoint.. this book was sooo good. There were a few things I thought were a tad far fetched but over all this was such a good book. It made me laugh out loud and it made me cry with sweetness and sadness. I accidentally read the 3rd book first but I love this series so much I am going to listen to the 3rd one again just to put it all in order and because it is just so good.. this author has such a way of writing. Just when you think everything is tied up in a bow she gives you a twist which you could not have expected. Uggg just gushing with love for these characters in these 3 books 🥰. Also the narrator continues to do a great job!!

Good but not great

Ok, so let me start by saying I am a huge fan of Aly Martinez and this series. Flint and Ash are an amazing couple that I quickly fell in love with. Flint spends pretty much the whole book trying to make up for hurtful things he said to Ash early in their relationship. Which was great and I enjoyed their journey. The only reason I felt this book was good and not great was because the story fizzled out a little over 1/2 through the book. Then it was just a little boring. And the conflict or drama that takes place from there on is for other couples around them. But I’m sure I’ll read the last book in the series. I have to know what happens to all the Paige brothers.

Best Series Ever!

i’ve been an audible member for over 10 years and don’t write reviews but this series was so great I just had to share!! I started listening to this book at 10 PM and was so hooked within an hour that I stayed up all night listening. The performances were great, the story kept me hooked, the character development was robust, it made me laugh, it made me cry and overall give me a sense of joy that I listened to a fantastic book. Enjoy ~

Not a disappointment!

I started discussing this series with my husband, earlier today. Trying to get him to listen to any kind of Romance, is a challenge. He gets so annoyed with the descriptions of the Hero’s man bits and the over-the-top sex scenes, that he misses the surrounding story. He also hates how books, in a series, follow a repeated pattern. I assured him that this series is not that way. Perhaps one of the things I love about AM’s writing, is the uniqueness of the storylines and the unforgettable characters. This book was no different. The Hero, Flint, grew and developed and became a true Hero, by the end of the book. The Heroine was the quirkiest, most ridiculously unique character, ever written. Both main characters had emotional scars to overcome, and if this author has a pattern, that is the only reoccurring theme. However, how else can a character, or a real person, grow, if by not by overcoming adversity and making mistakes? This book made me lol, shake my head and cry breath wracking tears. What more could anyone want from any story? -V from Kansas

Not my kind of story

I really like this author but this book was by far the worst I’ve read. Super childish and I don’t agree with the lifestyle that the main characters live. Really just a super sad situation.
