About this listen

Twenty-four hours after he walked away from court a free man, cop killer and gang leader Simon Talbot is found murdered. In his possession: the name of a protected witness from his trial.

For DI Hannah Robbins, it's a race against time to find Talbot's killer and locate the bystander before it's too late.

But as Hannah delves deeper into the past, she begins to question the integrity of the whole operation. Where do you turn when you can't trust the police?

Probably just me being picky but DI Hannah Robbins is not very likeable at times! Good story although I guessed the killer and bent cop very early on. I don’t think I’ll bother with Book 4 though

Annoying Heroine

Another enjoyable book in this series. A wel!-crafted story and good characters. It was difficult to put down. My only criticism is that Hannah's accent is more West Mids than East Mids Nottingham.

Good detailed case

Less pacy and exciting than previous installments but a decent and believable story. Not much side storyline for Di Robbins with ethan gone, just her being a bit sharp with pasha which made her less likable. Not sure whether it's the quite matter of fact narration or the recounting of every day details in the book that made it a bit dull. Not sure I'd go out of my way to listen to the next installment but might give it one more shot given I'm from the area so has an added interest.

decent main plot but falls a bit flat

This is the 3rd book in this series I’ve read. First was great, second was on, this was downright boring. I don’t think I’ll read book 4

Disappointing story
