So… shifters and mages, gargoyles and even mention of fae. Lots of intrigue and excitement, wicked villains and unexpected friends. Love both mcs and the long development of their relationship. Great world building. Bring on book 2

I really loved the story but some seems very familiar, I got the sense of something like the captive prince with having a scheming regent/relative that is planning on killing the prince but gets foiled by the pet of the prince that turns out to have a personal grudge against the princes family. But it was still amazing.
