Most relevant
A new take on Everest, neither demonising nor lauding the guiding industry, but exploring how and why it evolved. Engagingly written and performed. The only criticism relates to a few slips in relation to George Mallory and the early history of Everest, this is a shame but not the main focus of the narrative, as the 1920s expeditions long predate the guiding industry. Overall the book has enough fresh takes to hold the attention of people with a long standing interest, but is accessible even if it is the first book on Everest that you have read.
