Former detective superintendent Bob Hoon has had one hell of a year.

I love Bob Hoon and this was the most enjoyable yet!
If you haven’t met Hoon yet, do yourself a favour and get the previous two books.
I loved them so much I went back and got all the DCI Logan books too. The universe that JD Kirk has created with all these wonderful characters is my favourite place to unwind on my long walks. Not forgetting Angus’ fantastic narration to bring them all to life.
I look forward to further adventures.

Absolutely brilliant. Hoon is the new super- hero. the story is full of twists and turns and kept me enthralled from beginning to end.

Berta hoon is brilliant, and the comedy banter between her iris and hoon is just brilliant .The characters are all brought to life so well by the narrator .loved it .

when I finished the whole series of Logan books I was very upset, imagine my joy when I found the Hoon books. Bob Hoon was my favorite character before in the Logan books, but Bob and Berta Hoon together have had me laughing my head off, whether in the car, in the garden, at the supermarket.. they are hilarious. The narrator delivers those laugh out loud conversations with exceptional comic timing, and how he manages to remember every voice he's used for the many regular characters is genius. I feel like I know every one of them personally, and I just love the Scottish accents. I am honestly devastated that this was the last Hoon book, it surely cannot be the last? please please please JD Kirk, write more of these stories, I don't seem to be able to get enough!
