Excellent Book but Audible Sucks

Be careful about buying from Audible.
I assumed that, as a company owned by Amazon I would have the same easy time as I do with music downloads.
But these downloads from Audible come in a special format that means you can't transfer over to your mp3 player unless it is one of those that work. My Sony Walkman doesn't.

Not good enough Amazon - you've built your reputation on high customer trust but experiences Audible could destroy it.

One of the worst marketing books ever

I'm not exaggerating or being funny this is literally one of the worst marketing books I have ever read in my life. this book might be useful if we were in the year 1995 but today's day and age it's useless information. almost an entire chapter dedicated to how to use an RSS feed and also how you should have a website. gee thanks. can I have my $20 back please?

How to be a Jack of All Trades Marketer

What did you like best about Duct Tape Marketing (Revised and Updated)? What did you like least?

Can a marketing book with advice for small business be too comprehensive? As an owner of a digital marketing firm that serves small business, I've seen too many businesses armed with "just enough information" feel confident enough to participate in marketing areas they should avoid altogether, or find help executing. Google Adwords is a great example. How does a fool make a small fortune using Google Adwords? Start with a large fortune. While I was impressed with the completeness of Jantsch research, many of the marketing areas he made sound simple, simply aren't simple. The businesses that I see succeeding today aren't those who know a little bit about a lot of marketing techniques, or those who use "tactical trial and error" as their strategy. Success belongs to businesses who know where customers come from, and structure marketing around that insight. I give this three stars for being comprehensive and well-organized. To get my 5 stars, I'd want better insights and more focus on strategy. That's what small businesses require today, not a little knowledge about everything.

Same Old Stuff, Just Rehashed

Would you try another book from John Jantsch and/or John Jantsch?

I don't think I would.

Would you ever listen to anything by John Jantsch again?

I really don't think I want to.

Would you be willing to try another one of John Jantsch’s performances?

No, his voice was a bit annoying, especially the high pitched whistle.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Duct Tape Marketing (Revised and Updated)?

All the repetitive stuff in each chapter.

Any additional comments?

None

Outstanding Content

John Jantsch has packed more actionable info into to this book that what you might find spread out over a dozen or so books on the same subject. This book has given me a lot of good ideas and things to do to help get my new buz of the grown and flying.

Duct Tape Marketing

Unoriginal sums up most of my thoughts on this marketing book. John Jantsch just repackages the same material that is not super relevant.

Fundamentals NEVER go out of style

Marketing gimmicks and fads might get “likes” but they do not build long-term businesses. This book is a breathe of fresh air because it gives you the must-have FUNDAMENTALS of marketing, both offline and online, that will help your marketing work in any economy and in any decade. If you have not read Duct Tape Marketing you are basically missing out on one of the most important business books on planet earth. It’s right up there with The E-Myth, Building a Story Brand, and Built to Sell. Even if you’ve been in business (and specifically in marketing) for a number of years you will still find many golden nuggets in this book that will help you take your sales and marketing for yourself (and your clients) to the next level.
