Summary

A practical guide to letting go of the character defects that get in the way of true and joyful recovery.

Resentment. Fear. Self-pity. Intolerance. Anger. As Bill P. explains, these are the "rocks" that can sink recovery - or at the least, block further progress. Based on the principles behind "Steps Six and Seven", Drop the Rock combines personal stories, practical advice, and powerful insights to help listeners move forward in recovery. The second edition features additional stories and a reference section.

Poor Recording

As a book, Drop the Rock is awesome...so incredibly helpful. But this recording is choppy....tail end of sentences are clipped....and hence it is incredibly distracting from the book's message. Yes, I tried it on multiple devices. It's in the recording. Too bad... The written version of the book is worth the time!

Irregular

The recording does not naturally flow. It's choppy and sporadic, pausing in the middle of a sentence.

Disappointed

Poor, monotoned and almost robotic narration. The principles are regurgitated from many old time stories circulated in AA. It's like a list of powerful statements that you will hear by attending meeting. Thanks for the compilation.

Why did I wait so long...

After years of hearing about how great this book was I finally listened to it. Much struggle and frustration, stuck in neutral, could have been avoided.

Great book club meeting material!

Awesome guide through the 6th and 7th. We started a book club/women's meeting read it weekly and discussed. Everyone really enjoyed it! We learned so much from the book and each other! A fabulous lesson in self awareness and humility. A must read for anyone no matter where they are in recovery.
