Summary

My name is Michael Noctis, and less than a week ago, I bonded with a Chaos Dragon.

A day ago, I merged with this dragon in a way that made me superhuman. And only a moment ago, I learned that I was a Dragon Breeder. Who said you couldn't juggle being a father to dragons while attending a military academy filled with beautiful dragonmancers?

nearly lost me

Alright look, great book and will buy the next. BUT! I almost quit when the mc got too cocky, ignored the obvious, and literally did the equivalent of watching the enemy power up.

Fantastic book series so far (small spoiler warning)

The only complaint I have is the near final fight and how it played out versus how easy it would have been if the MC had reacted faster to the antagonists’ antics. I get it was for the plot development but i felt it was just a little too drawn out. But other then that, Dante well done, Alex and Marissa a pleasure to listen to your work again as always. Looking forward to the next installment of this series.

ummm

i have a question is he ever gonna ask of he will be able to have his own children? ....like something that isn't dragon or is he just plain f'ed? ....cause i would find that upsetting only allowed to have dragon kids.

Funny as hell!

All the more "modern" references make this book an absolute blast to listen to. Cannot recommend this one enough

Infuriatingly Unbearable

Do you like your protagonists constantly (and I mean con-stant-ly) spouting off endless pop-culture references to no one that understands them? Then this book is for you!

Does the idea of a protagonist who bases all of his knowledge and wisdom on movies - in-fact, citing them as if they were a hint of wisdom he'd gleaned through experience whenever he does anything - amuse you? This book has your name written on it then! Enjoy!

Ahead I get a little spoilery, you've been warned:

In the last act of the book, the antagonist is performing a 'ritual' on a chained Dragonmancer and her Dragon. Instead of saving her, dipshit protagonist cites Indiana Jones as to why he didn't, he was 'fascinated' by the scene. So he just sits around and watches as everything pans out.

Then as the antagonist slowly performs their evil plan, he continues to sit around and do nothing. Even when the antagonist is indisposed for plot reasons, he continued to do NOTHING (actually, nothing would be preferable, unfortunately hit god-awful pop-culture references don't stop) as it comes to fruition.

The whole scene was so stupidly written that I hated myself for wasting as much time on this garbage as I already had.

I've been enjoying some of King's other series up until this point, but this one is so bad I might just give up on him as an author entirely...

Nother home run

The book is another great success for Dante king. If you haven’t listened to the first book then you’re truly missing out. The second book really expounds on the first in ways that you were waiting for when the first book ended on such a cliffhanger as “ you’re a dragon breeder”
