About this listen

Nothing comes without a cost.

After defeating the red dragon’s legion of bloodthirsty demons, Audrey can finally settle into the afterlife with the knowledge her family is safe. But her quest for a perfect existence shatters the moment Logan is kidnapped in an attempt to bend her to Satan’s will.

Audrey must now travel to the one place no hunter has ever ventured to save the man she loves: hell. Savage demons, desiccated corpses, life-sucking zombie trees, and a land of death and rot await Audrey and her friends as they battle through the fiery realm.

But Logan’s freedom comes with a price...the destruction of Audrey’s happily-ever-after. As Satan schemes for dominion over all the realms, Audrey learns that some acts may be beyond redemption.

Fans of The Mortal Instruments, Buffy, and Supernatural won't want to miss out on all the twists and turns in the conclusion of this YA fantasy journey.

Having saved her family from Satan and his legions of bloodthirsty demons, Audrey basks in the knowledge that her family are finally safe. No sooner has Audrey settled into the afterlife however, when Logan is betrayed and kidnapped by someone close, in an attempt to lure Audrey to hell.

Audrey and her friends, along with an unexpected ally, set out to rescue Logan. But with Satan scheming for dominion over all the realms, will the cost for Logan’s freedom prove too high?

Dominion is the third compelling instalment of the After Life series and what an emotional rollercoaster it was. Packed with surprises and breathtaking twists, it’s a well executed, tense and fast paced read which had me anxiously turning the pages.

From the offset I found myself totally immersed in Audrey’s daring rescue of Logan through Hell. I was particularly impressed with the authors vivid depiction of Hell itself. One could almost taste and smell the sights and sounds.

Audrey’s turmoil was palpable throughout and I did find myself frustrated at times when she failed to turn to God for assistance particularly in the first half of the book. Despite the love He had shown her time and time again, she still continued to doubt Him.

The development of the secondary characters has been exceptional. Logan in particular made an impact on me this time around. The lengths he was willing to go to, to be with Audrey. I’m looking forward to reading the Logan companion novel next which will give more insight into his mind. I was glad that a certain character got his comeuppance as a consequence of his betrayal. I was also pleased with Morgan’s development and I’m looking forward to reading his and Kaitlyn’s spin off which the author plans to work on in the future.

All in all this series has been a fantastical multi-layered journey of self discovery, spirituality and adventure. I can’t count the number of times I genuinely welled up throughout the books which is a testament to the authors characterisation skills. I’ll definitely be looking out for future works from this author.

I received a free advanced audible copy of Dominion read by the excellent Vanessa Moran and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
