Fun and insightful companion novella

When a fatal mistake leads to his untimely arrival in the afterlife, Logan finds himself training to become a demon hunter. When a mission on Earth goes awry, however, Logan and his protege are captured by Satan and tortured for weeks. Following his rescue, Logan is broken in mind and body. No sooner has he begun to get back to some semblance of normality, he is tasked to train an unlikely demon hunter. At first, Audrey is as fiery as she is annoying but she may just be the bridge that heals his scars both in heaven and on earth.

Logan is a companion novella that can be read as a stand-alone or as book 2.5 in the After Life series. Told from Logan’s point of view, this book not only offers insight into Logan’s hilarious first meeting with Audrey, but answers a lot of questions about his background and how he came to be in the afterlife. His friendship with Kaitlyn and Morgan is covered as well as his brutal capture and torture at the hands of Satan.

My one small gripe was that it wasn’t long enough. Logan’s POV was so much fun that I wanted to read more about his thoughts on Audrey. It certainly made me see Logan in a different light though and I’m almost tempted to go back to reading the series again.

We were also given more insight in to Kaitlyn and Morgan’s relationship and with the author now hinting of a possible spin off between these two, I for one can’t wait!

All in all this companion novella is a treat for Logan fans. He’s such an enigma in the first two instalments. We now realise he wasn’t as indifferent as he tried to make out.

I received a free advanced audible copy of Logan narrated by Adam Gold and I am voluntarily reviewing it.

Voice actor & story were fantastic!

Logan is a companion story to what is possibly my all time favorite series, so I want to start by saying if you want to listen to this I recommend checking out the first 2 books of the Life After series first. Then DEFINITELY check this out! It’s so cool to see things from Logans point of view.
That being said, can I give this guy 100 stars for his performance?! I’m in shock at how great he was! I’ve listened to several audiobooks and he is far and above my most favorite. He somehow had a different voice for every character - some even had accents - and they were spot on. Normally even the idea of 1 person doing multiple voices seems like a setup for cheesiness. Nope. Not here! This guy deserves an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, CMA award- what kind of awards do they have for voice actors? Whatever it is, he wins! And Julie Hall wins for creating a series that competes with Harry Potter AND the Chronicles of Narnia for my fav series. Yes I said it- Hall, Rowling and Lewis just got compared and Hall may even win in my book.

An excellent listen.

This was an excellent book, both in story and in narration. Adam Gold is a new narrator to me, but I really enjoyed his performance. He gave Logan life and vibrancy. The story was fantastic. Julie Hall is brilliant. Highly recommend.

Narrators voice like liquid velvet!

First of all, ADAM GOLD. This is probably the best audiobook I've ever listened to. Not only is his voice the exact match of what I imagined for Logan the whole time, but he brought the character to life for me in a way that no character has been previously before. This is a sort of prequel story, but really should be read/listened to after the second book. I've been dying to get into this dude's head from the very beginning and I love who he is. I love that he is flawed and cares deeply about most things. I love his drive to protect those around him and to be the best demon hunter there ever was. I needed this backstory like I would need water in a desert. The scene's with him and Morgan were touching and I understand so much more why Logan is the way he is. I'm rooting for you Logan, till the end!!

Listening to this audiobook is fantastic!

I really liked Logan by Julie Hall because we were able to get more backstory about Logan. Questions from his past are finally answered. I felt like we really had a distinct point of view from Logan.

Logan definitely surprised me. His thoughts were sometimes different than what I expected from him. It was really interesting to see how Kaitlin and Morgan tied into Logan's story. This is a perfect novella for this series. Hall couldn't have picked a better character to write about. I felt like the whole story was interesting and I just loved having Logan's point of view.

Adam Gold did an amazing job narrating Logan. He definitely sounds like how I thought Logan would sound. Gold put on a wonderful performance. I really liked that he did different voices for all the characters. Listening to the audiobook was fantastic. I would highly recommend it.

Great narrator! Great backstory

I loved getting the backstory on Logan in this book! It brings so much more understanding of his character, where he came from, why he is the way he is, etc. Very well written.

The narrator on this book is now one of my favorites of all time. I rarely comment on a narrator, however, this one brought so much life to the story, depth to the characters, and was so engaging that it would be a disservice to not give him the credit he is due.

Holy Cheeseballs Times Infinity

So, I already loved this book. But... I'm normally not a fan of male narrators on books like this. Especially since whenever male narrators try to do female voices, they come out sounding... forced and awkward. Kinda like Miss Piggy.

I did NOT have that problem here. This guy is so good, he's better than the narrator I had in my head while reading the book. I mean seriously. Expectations surpassed. Even his Alrik sounded like Chris Hemsworth playing Thor (which is totally how I imagined it).

High-quality recording of a book I've already raved over since the first day I read it. You NEED this book series. (Yes. I mean you. Get them. Now. Thank me later.)
