As always William Porter gets to the fact to enable you to get a greater understanding into your habits and behaviour and therefore the ability to make positive changes in your life.

Essential reading to understand diet & fitness in absolute clarity. A fantastic companion piece to Alcohol Explained.

Factually incorrect in many aspects

The book is well read and clear.

Unfortunately, the author is incorrect in several aspects of his explanations of biochemistry, particularly the descriptions of digestion, blood sugar management and how they’re affected by the consumption of different food groups.

I had high hopes for this book, but feel very disappointed with the lack of accurate information.

Necessary reading

I’m a good weight and fairly fit but this book still taught me a lot. It was a really interesting read and I’ll definitely be making some changes to my eating habits.

Excellent resource

As somebody who has struggled with their diet and weight for over 40 years I found this book most helpful. The narration is clear and the messages are simple but also powerful. The timing of me reading the book helped as I chose to look at my alcohol consumption recently as well and I have found my diet is also much improved, as though my taste buds have some how changed!

Everyone needs a William Porter.

I love this guy, he’s full of brilliant advice and makes you THINK about what you’re putting into your mouth, be it drink or food.
If you enjoyed this ‘Alcohol Explained’ is an excellent listen too.

Excellent direct writiting

I love his direct style of writing. I listened to diet and exercise explained because his first book alcohol explained. His direct clear organized approach to whatever subject I now consider a benchmark to measure other books against. I hope he continues writing since his books have been helpful to me and I expect to others. If you are interested in a subject he is writing about you will finish his books with a clear understanding of the relevant details.

Very Good, already applying info

Very good information and easy to apply ideas. This book will make you healthier as the ideas are simple but still motivating. Great presentation of basic truths of the topic. I wish there were more books that are this motivating tjat speak this plainly on diet nutrition and excercise.
