Listen to Detective Jane Rizzoli in one of the most twisted cases she’s ever been on in Die Again, the latest release audiobook in Tess Gerritsen’s New York Times best-selling series Rizzoli & Isles, narrated by professional voice actor Jane Eby. This story is the work of a master in mystery writing. You will be entirely engrossed as Detective Rizzoli hunts for clues throughout Boston and Southern Africa where she uncovers body after body, all connected to one elusive killer. This is the perfect thriller – suspenseful, gripping and tense. Available now from Audible.

Summary

The latest enthralling case in Tess Gerritsen's New York Times bestselling Rizzoli & Isles series, the blockbuster books behind the smash hit TNT series.

Boston Detective Jane Rizzoli is on the case of a big game hunter found dead in his apartment, alone with the body of a beautiful white snow leopard he had recently been commissioned to procure and stuff for a high-profile museum in the area. Medical examiner Maura Isles connects the case to a number of seemingly unrelated deaths where the victims have all been found hanging upside down, the hallmark of a leopard's kill. Rizzoli follows the puzzling trail of clues all the way to Botswana, where she uncovers the unsolved mystery of a deadly camping safari four years prior. When she realizes the two cases are connected, Rizzoli must track down the sole survivor of the tragic trip to discover who - or what - is behind these gruesome deaths.

Story good, narrator not the best!

It was a bit slow to start, but did pick up. What irritated me was the extremely bad pronounciation of everything to do with Botswana!

Tess Gerritsen, my favourite author

I may be bias when it comes to tess's books but she never fails to grip me as a reader tell you oodles of information about forensics but not too much to baffle you, and surprise me every time.

Rizzoli and Isles is my favourite book series and each book I gave devoured in a matter of days (this one was 2) although this is the first book I have listened to on audible it made it easier to keep doing things in my daily life but also to enjoy a good book at the same time. if you love crime with all the details this is the book for you absolutely loved it!!!

Complicated and slow to get going

I’ve listened to most of the author’s DI Jane Rizolli and Forensic Examiner Dr Mauer Isles books and have enjoyed most of them. This last book is a bit of departure from her usual style in that there are two separate stories that don’t come together until near the end of the book. At first I thought I’d downloaded the wrong book as it started with a group on an African safari trip. The story then switched to the usual location of Boston to describe a gruesome murder. Many more unusual deaths follow, flipping between Africa and Botswana without any apparent connection between the two locations. The narrative was not as compelling as usual and the author digressed into descriptions some of which was interesting but I felt much was inserted to give a detective story more gravitas. The resolution of the murders was all wrapped up rather quickly culminating in the usual cliff-hanger ending.

The reader did a competent job.

Interesting concept

Interesting set of elements to be woven together to create a fast moving tale a bit sloppy at the conclusion
