Just awful and aged so badly.

This made for uncomfortable listening. The heroine is a simpering fool. Despite the authors attempts to paint her as ‘different’ she can’t manage anything without being distracted by the hero.
The hero might have been classed as attractive once, but it now makes for really uncomfortable listening that his most attractive feature is that he won’t take no for an answer- and that if you ask a woman enough times then they’ll come to their senses and say yes eventually.

If you like hot sex, this is the book for you.

There is an underlining story, but it is swallowed up by the smouldering looks, the heavy breathing etc. I found both characters very one dimensional and I had to keep asking if they were for real.

A good romance

Read this years ago, enjoyed this presentation. Bit too much sex, it gets boring.

Improbable in so many ways

More Mafia than Regency.
Women did not attend funerals and the thought of an enormous ducal mansion buying cakes from the village baker is ludicrous.
Then we have the heroine who feels duty bound to avenge the hero's cousin's murder despite not knowing him prior to coming upon him shortly after he had been shot.

Good old fashioned bodice ripper

Good narrator and racy story of its era based in 1800s giving social and male/female information relevant to its time.

Amazing

One of my favorite books narrated excellently. I’d give this extra kudos as the narrator was English, like the Devil and that helped a lot

Good story

This is a good story with a good plot, but the heroine is so aggrevating, stubborn and annoying. She acted as though she was the main investigator of the murder case and she insisted on knowing all the evidence there was to know. And she also acted as though she was the head of the family. And if they didn't give her the evidence she would go into a tantrum and go and investigate on her own. She was such a Miss High and Mighty, I didn't like her at all. Yes the hero was a bit bossy but he was A Duke AND the head of the family, but she was just a visitor, basically, and she acted as though she owned the place. But she got better eventually, although she still remained very bossy.
The narrator was brilliant hadn't listened to him before I started this series, but will definitely be listening to other serieses read by him.
