Summary

When Devil, the most infamous member of the Cynster family, is caught in a compromising position with plucky governess Honoria, he astonishes the entire ton by offering his hand in marriage.

But Honoria isn't about to bend to society's demands. She craves adventure and is set on seeing the world. Could her passion for Devil cause her to embrace the enchanting peril of a lifelong adventure of the heart?

Just awful and aged so badly.

This made for uncomfortable listening. The heroine is a simpering fool. Despite the authors attempts to paint her as ‘different’ she can’t manage anything without being distracted by the hero.
The hero might have been classed as attractive once, but it now makes for really uncomfortable listening that his most attractive feature is that he won’t take no for an answer- and that if you ask a woman enough times then they’ll come to their senses and say yes eventually.

If you like hot sex, this is the book for you.

There is an underlining story, but it is swallowed up by the smouldering looks, the heavy breathing etc. I found both characters very one dimensional and I had to keep asking if they were for real.

Improbable in so many ways

More Mafia than Regency.
Women did not attend funerals and the thought of an enormous ducal mansion buying cakes from the village baker is ludicrous.
Then we have the heroine who feels duty bound to avenge the hero's cousin's murder despite not knowing him prior to coming upon him shortly after he had been shot.

Spoilt by bad recording, where the cd faltered.

A typical Lauren’s story, though the sex scenes were rather overdone to the point of nausea. Strong characters and a simple plot but delightful tussel of the sexes.

worthy of a re-read or three

I have just re-listened to this great tale, after a six month break, during which i have read or listened to many of the succesdive Cynster stories, in which I loved any appearance of Devil and Honoria (and Sebastian), and wallowed in the first book. Prebble is excellent, but his volume increases during the steamy scenes and I need to turn him down!

Brilliant fun!

Great story - very well performed. I cannot fault it and recommend it highly. Not to be missed.
