Summary

The Sol Federation Marine Corps vessel S&R Black was sent to recover an ancient derelict from the farthest edge of the Sol system. What they found could spell the end of humanity.

Days after escaping the derelict ship Mira and Pluto’s destruction, Black Company is pulled from stasis hours at Trident Station, only to discover the solar system has gone silent.

Nearly empty on both ammunition and fuel reserves, taking refuge at the silent, apparently dead station is their only choice.

When they arrive, they find they are far from alone, and humanity's future lies in their hands.

Derelict: Trident, the suspenseful, action-packed fourth and final installment of The Derelict Saga, reveals the AI conspiracy, the true threat the exo-solar creatures pose to humanity, and the emergence of true non-carbon sentient intelligence.

Good old fashioned sci-fi

I got the first in this saga because I was looking for a story like Event horizon. It's a lot like that to start off with but soon the story evolves into something more. The characters are distinct and the writer has gotten the feel of the military perfectly, I'm military so I should know. The performance isn't the greatest but, that said, it's read by its creator so he knows each personality better than I do. He also cares about each one and you can tell. I would recommend this whole saga to anyone who loves Sci-fi because that's what it is. Humans, aliens, spaceships and A.I. everything you could want.

Give this series a chance! It's a real gem.

The 1st Book is slower than some would like but I liked the confidence of the author to take it slowly, make the characters the focus and then, a mystery slowly unfolds.
Each installment adds to the creeping sense of foreboding that the author crafts wonderfully well. The final installment begins to really show the sense of menace, the motivations of AI and how humans fit into the grand scale of the universe. I loved this series and hope more people give it a shot. The voice acting was very good and I think Cooley does a fine job. I had no trouble following the characters. One of my favourite series on Audible.

Great Saga

First book is a little heavy and slow going but it really takes off from book 2. Fantastic story. Really enjoyed it.

One of the best books ever existing

The plot is excellent. The characters well written and feels so realistic/alive. The narrator by the author himself does an outstanding performance. I recommend this book as one of the best if not the best audiobook I’ve ever listened to and I have listened to a lot of books.
Definity deservs more popularity.
