About this listen
Darkness always works overtime.
It thrives in the depravity of grown men.
Hardening hearts and leaving them empty.
It destroys everything and everyone it touches.
Now it's coming for our innocent beacon of light.
Stronger than she knows, but still so fragile.
In the fight of her life, all I can do is watch.
There's no outlaw justice for what she's facing.
No protection from the cold realities of life and death.
But there's also no limit to what I would do for her.

Tara is the MC presidents daughter. Capone is part of the MC and older than Tara. Making Capone fights his feelings for Tara, he makes sure he is around to help her if need. Family is import to Capone and the ten years difference, makes him sometimes the baby sister of the club. Tara is stubborn and strong headed, but when she sees the gentle side of Capone, a love story happens. With problems and drama Capone steps up and shows Tara the caring man he is.

Maverick, the hero from the first book and leader of the Satan’s Knights, faces a storm when his daughter Tara has her heart broken, is diagnosed with a deadly disease, and unexpectedly finds her forever person in one of his MC brothers. Talk about a whirlwind of emotions. The main couple here is Tara and Capone. Capone, the club’s resident playboy, is the last man anyone expected to settle down. Tara, the MC princess and a total firecracker, is juggling the typical ups and downs of high school until her health forces her to grow up overnight. She’s suddenly facing decisions most girls her age should never have to. Capone, ten years older, becomes the perfect balance for her. Some may be concerned about her being seventeen when she first starts spending time with him, but this is handled carefully. The relationship is a slow burn. While there’s some kissing and chemistry, the situation is very different from the typical “teen” setup. Tara’s future is uncertain, her parents are fully aware, and her circumstances accelerate the pace of her life. While the ending felt a bit rushed, I still really enjoyed the story. Johnson and Puckett were phenomenal narrators, and I especially loved the duet narration format. I’m definitely looking forward to the next book in the series.
Wow! Great addition to series

Michael Norman Johnson and Sarah Puckett bring all the feels to the front with this one. Johnson creates the best Capone! Mean as a snake when it comes to protection and a teddy bear when around Tara, he captures Capone's essence. Puckett is Tara, and that poor girl has a lot to deal with. Puckett dials in to each scene with the right amount of feelings to make Tara real. Loved this narration.
