Brady and Luna's story is loads of fun. Brady is a grumpy alpha sheriff of the town and Luna, being new to the town of Starlight Cove, seems determined to drive him crazy! The clashes between the two are fierce but the chemistry burns hotter.

This audiobook is the start of the series and the series seems very promising. As my first book by Brighton Walsh, I am impressed and look forward to more Starlight Cove!

Defiant Heart was my first Brighton Walsh book and I’m not sure how to explain to myself why that is.
The book was sweet, with a bit of angst, banter and absolutely romantic. An easy listen with not much drama, perfect for those days when all you want is to smile at the world. I’m hooked in the series so I’m looking forward to listen to the rest of the books.

What can I say about the narrators that hasn’t been said before? I love Troy Duran. He gives his all to his characters and Brady was no exception. Vanessa Edwin was brilliant as Luna.

Book 1 of the Starlight Cove Series follows Luna & Brady. Luna is a free spirited, carefree, passionate about and willing to fight for what she believes in van living Nomad who has come to Starlight Cove to protest the development of some land by a big box store, she has been there a month already and had frequent run ins with the town Sherrif Brady. Brady is the eldest of the McKenzie siblings who are trying to keep their family business alive and are in desperate need of some some good publicity so Luna chaining herself to trees etc next to their property isn't helping. Brady is very black & white and steadfast when it comes to rules whereas Luna sees rules more as guidelines so these two are very much opposites but the attraction/chemistry between them is combustible.

This is a quick and fun read, it is a good introduction to this new series, we meet and get to know a little about each of the McKenzie siblings, it is low angst/drama has good humour and excellent spice. There isn't much in the way of plot or relationship development between Luna & Brady, the physical aspect between them very much drives this story in my opinion and I would have liked more emotional connection than we got. But if you're in need of a lighthearted, easy, fun, spicy read this is for you. I listened to the Audiobook that is done in Duet style narration by Vanessa Edwin & Troy Duran both of whom I really enjoy as performers, they did a great job with this as always. This was a reread for me and I enjoyed it as much as I did the first time. 🌶🌶🌶
