Summary

There isn't much time left for Lucian North to save his brother.

Discovering a new way to grow exponentially stronger, Lucian forms an unsteady alliance with the angel Danira, one that he hopes could grow into something more.

Matters are complicated once Lucian is given a deadline by the Council of Death: produce his predecessor, who has mysteriously disappeared, or be tortured until he relinquishes his mantle.

Hunted by parasites, injuresouls, fallen angels, and now his own kind, Lucian must level up in a way he's never fathomed before, crafting everything from mechas to bone armor designed to withstand even the strongest attack. He must forge new alliances, realize the impermanence of the alliances he already has made, and even become a Death Hunter if he hopes to save his brother from certain doom.

But that's not all that's at stake.

As Lucian grows closer to his goal, he's blindsided by an attack that he never saw coming. He's also asked to do something that will reignite a war between the Progeny of Light and the Progeny of Darkness.

The decision Lucian makes will have grave consequences for his future, and that's before his final discovery, one that threatens the very existence of his family.

It's going to be an uphill battle from start to finish. And while Lucian is always up to the challenge, he may not be ready for the consequences.

Loved the action thru out the book

This was a fantastic book. Loved every part of it. Wait for the next book will be a tough one. This sequel was bigger than what there was in first book. HC writes long books with big storylines so many characters and all. Lucian playing the video game seq has ate atleast 5-8 pages combined. Its just felt like a filler to add to the story and it doesnt have any connection with it. Also Lucian seems so frustrated and confused about so many things. Its kinda irritating but that character is like this so it cant be helped. I hope next book will have Action Sequences which favors Lucian instead of he being cut down 10000 times in the book. End of the book was good!!!!!!!

the story is good, but half annoying

both books so far are performed outstanding. the supernatural story is action packed and gripping. the family drama motivator story is annoying and has been the reason i put this book down. I now just fast forward through it. I almost went with 4 stars for story since the brother side of isn't a huge part but 2 second into another brother/family soliloquy and I'm done. off to a book that doesn't annoy me

Nice Continuation, get and thank me later.

Very well done and fast paced. I really enjoyed these first two books. The only problem is now I am stuck waiting for the next one, which I hope comes out soon. Liked the story and the characters and want to see/hear what happens next. The narration was spot on as well, Andrea Parsneau did a fantastic job and brought the characters to life make sure to bring her back. Don’t make us wait too long.

Deathly good!

So good old Harmon Cooper did it again! He manages to write such interesting stories in this hybrid genre of LitRPG and Fantasy. I can’t seem to help myself I always have to buy the next book in whatever series he is writing at the moment. Go on and spend that credit this series is just as good if not better than the last one! Thanks HC I thoroughly enjoyed this one! KA

Great continuation of this series.

The only thing I dislike is that I want more and I have to wait. Andrea does a fantastic job like usual and Mr. Cooper is still rocking these great books.

Book 2 was fantastic! Can't wait for the next one

I really enjoyed book 2 here. It greatly deepens the story and was quite the engrossing read. Also, it looks like some pre orders received book 1 instead of 2, and they just have to re-download to fix. I bought 1 day after release and I had no issues.
