The team returned to Earth from the Netherworld, having received absolutely no help from the useless Nether gods of Asgard.

They will have to find a way to prevent a Convergence, without divine assistance. Fine. They will do that, somehow.

Except first, they have to get back to their own Earth, the one they left from. Not the one they stepped into. Not 1940s France. Where all the people are dead. And monsters are hungry.

I almost didn’t bother but I am very pleased I did. The last book dragged and I worried that these books were going to fall into the trap of the expeditionary series where the characters stumble around, conversation drags then some massive catastrophe occurs and the lead character gets annoyed and somehow fixes it at the end. With no real progress made. However that did not happen! The story flowed well, duke and boots were superb and it was a great story! I am ready and eager for the next now :)
