Suspense, intrigue, romance, this book has it all. My first listen by Sienna Snow and I am hooked! This is the first story in her Street Kings series and features Nikhil and Danika. These two were childhood friends, Nik always looking out for Dani. Dani was pulled away and now years later, they are brought back together. But will their childhood attraction still be there? Does Dani need protecting? And where will it leave them? Let's talk characters. Nik(hil) is such the alpha male. I love that about him, but also love how he melts around his "Rabbit". Dani is incredibly independent, smart and beautiful. I love her secretive career, her ability to stand up for herself but unable to keep away from her "Hil". Passionate, sensual, thrilling and a wonderful start to the series, if you like romantic suspense, this story is for you!

Chance Smoulders is a new to me narrator and all I can say is WOW! He delves into Nik and creates that protectiveness that envelopes the listener! Matched with the talent of Simone Lewis as Dani, he brings it! Lewis comes through with Dani as the strong, confident woman she is. I love her undertone of vulnerability when she is near Nik. These two are perfectly cast and work well together. It was an enjoyable listen.

Dangerous King is my first Sienna Snow novel and I loved it. I loved the fact that this novel reference my home country Trinidad and Tobago and some aspects of the culture was interwoven into the story, as that's not something I've ever found in a romance novel. I loved the story, it as romantic, steamy, sweet with a dash of action and suspense and filled with secrets and lies and some unexpected twists that all had me hooked until the end. I loved the characters. Danika and Nikhil were likable, fascinating characters with amazing chemistry. Nik was a dangerous man in his own right but I loved that Danika could hold her own. In addition the author went on to include to some secondary characters who all caught my attention and consumed my thoughts and I can't wait for the other books in the series to get their stories. The story ended in a non-traditional cliff-hanger where there were lots of questions still to be answered which I suspect will come in the other novels. This story was just the beginning and I can't wait for more. I would highly recommend this novel to romance lovers.
The audible version was narrated by Chance Smolders and Simone Lewis. This was my first time listening to these two narrators. I thought they did a good job giving the characters their own voices. Their speech was clear and understandable and it was a pleasure listening to them bring the story to life. TheFlock AudiobookObsession

I listened to the audiobook and really enjoyed it overall. These two narrators, Chance Smolders and Simone Lewis are new to me but they were good. Chance Smolders sounds a little smoother than I kind of pictured Nik. I think I expected a gravelly voice but Chance has a beautifully smooth voice. Simone Lewis is good but her male voices sounded a bit forced. However, they overall, they did well.

Nik, is the dangerous king and he has known Danika since childhood. She is playing a dangerous game where she wants to avenge a death caused by her uncle. They need to work together but can the trust each other?

It was a fast moving story. I think what I didn't get was that this was anything close to an enemies to lovers romance- they were pretty much really good to each other from the beginning. ha Nothing wrong with that but I guess i expected a little more angst from the description. That said, as I noted, the story was fast moving and I have to admit that i really liked that they were partners through their caper. Overall, a fun, interesting story.

This book grabbed my attention and kept me on the edge of my seat all the way until the end! I loved everything about this. The writing was amazing and the narration was perfect! Such amazing characters that you can’t help but fall in love with. I can’t wait to see what comes next!

It's definitely a very steamy read. It's also full of mystery and intrigue. It has enough scandal to keep you on edge. I am so happy that I found this book and can't wait for the rest of the series!
