This book is just so good. Their love story is so endearing and beautiful, I can’t get enough. The narration was wonderful

I was really looking forward to this one but I think I’d built it up a bit in my mind based on reviews. And so It fell a little flat. While I loved Daman and War together it felt resolved too quickly even with the fated mates being the reason. I still love the relationship between the 7 brothers and it’s the only reason I’m still reading this series tbh.


Overall - I’ve been a bit 50/50 with this series so far. While I do enjoy it as a fun read i think the series could have been really great with some depth. It’s starting to lean towards a cartoon style villain vibe. The many near miss and near deaths are getting super repetitive. Especially when it’s constantly the exact same villain. For immortal -supposedly all powerful beings - the “battles” are super boring and more like something you’d expect in vampire diaries than biblical level fantasy battles. Just as someone could (and should) be ended easily something goes “wrong” it’s getting too predictable.
I think the whole series, in every way, is very surface level and while I don’t mind that every now and again for a quick fun read it doesn’t quite feel right here. It doesn’t feel like it’s been written with rom-com or light fun intentions so it just misses something. I think the plot and characters could have been phenomenal. But it’s just a repetitive plot in each book while featuring a different couple. It feels like a missed opportunity for something very very good.

I will read Gray, he’s been my favourite since Galan and the one I’ve been most excited for but I’ve got a feeling the cartoon villain vibe is only going to get worse and it’s not something I enjoy.
