About this listen

[Synchronization reached 100%]... Begin Class Card Evolution?

A slum rat like Shouren doesn’t have much in life. He picks peaches to survive. Dreams of buying a [Common] Class Card one day. But even that hope is stolen from him. Broken, bleeding, and left for dead, Shouren crawls inside the dungeon—desperately reaching for the floating card in front of him.

And something awakens inside him.

A corrupted system fuses to his fractured soul, unlocking a long forgotten trait. A [Unique] trait that lets Shouren forge cards no one else can: Cards that evolve.

The world’s weakest class hides a secret that powerful factions would kill to control. And if Shouren doesn’t grow stronger fast enough? They’ll find him. Or worse...enslave him.

This is a new action-packed crafting progression fantasy featuring a unique card-based magic system, deckbuilding, legendary classes, rare evolutions, and more! Perfect for fans of All the Skills, Quest Academy, and Primal Hunter!

Overall a very good listen with an intriguing story and power system.
I really like the balancing of the cardsmith class and the powers that make the mc different.

It feels like the story is targeted towards a younger audience, but that may change in the future when the mc grows up a little more.
To me it feels like the author is explaining the characters thought processes a bit too much. There is so much inner dialogue that could be cut out or explained a bit better.

Would definitely give book 2 a try as the story and progression system is something i want to see more of.

Good

I really liked this book but I find it very annoying that the author feels the need to use the statsheet as a filler when there's no change to his sheet.. Even when his sync goes up a % or two it doesn't mean we need to read or hear the full sheet again and again.. I hope this review finds its way to the author thank you.

interesting book but

Performance is fine, and story ok.

System in it self might even be good. But whenever any character says anything I want to throw my headset across the room.

If the book was only narration it would improve the story A LOT.

Ok card story

This is written and performed like a children's book and the narrator reads it like they are speaking to a toddler throughout. Can't really blame the narrator though as that's pretty much how the wording of the story comes across. The story, it's overly simple, and makes use of the main characters idiocy for silly plot points you can see a mile off. Yeah, the character is a young teenager, but there's a limit to stupidity and lack of self-awareness. It wouldn't be as jarring though if he wasn't attempted, repeatedly, to be portrayed as this deep, intelligent thinker. Jeebus me. Combined that all with the main character seemingly at war with the narrator for the actual story telling... The whole thing man, it's just pure agony. It's grating, and downright untenable. And the main character, ugh, sounds like an emo teenager throughout. I have to say, the narrator really nailed it with their performance for him. He's pure torture. Just completely unlikeable.

I sincerely regret listening to the whole of this. Give me back my credit.

Aw shucks.
