Summary

When I stumbled into a Mafia-run club seeking a job, I was looking for protection. Little did I know I’d need protection from him.

Conor O’Callahan was exactly the kind of danger I was trying to avoid. He was gorgeous as sin with an accent hotter than Hades, but that’s where the charm ended. He was also cynical, cold, and downright cranky.

You could imagine my surprise when he gave me a proposition: marry him or lose my life.

Desperate times call for desperate measures. I’ve learned to do what’s necessary to survive in this world, and that includes marrying a mobster. Regardless of what he might say, it’s only temporary.

It’s not like I’m going to fall for him. Because that would be stupid, right?

The Boston Underworld series consists of six full-length stand-alones that can be listened to in any order.

Conor's softer than the other's on the series!

Eek!! Conor was just what I'd hoped he'd be! He's one of those characters that just makes themselves at home in your heart. He's strong and so fearless; I was shocked by how sweet he was. A. Zavarelli creates some of the craziest stories. I've loved the Boston Underworld series. Saying that though, Conor isn't quite the same as the other guys in the series. He isn't quite as... strongly in your face as the other guys. Take that as you will...

I do like Tracy Marks as the narrator. She's been the consistent narrator throughout the entire series and I appreciate that since A. Zavaelli used the single female narrator throughout the entire series. I really appreciate the consistent use of the same, lone female. I would have loved a male in the narrative... ideally throughout the entire series. Such strong male characters really could use that strong voice. However, Tracy Marks did a great job.

Great book!

Connor was absolutely amazing, I loved it. He was loyal, brave, and everything I have loved in all these amazing mafia men.

While I love this book I am so sad that this is the end of the series, because I have really enjoyed all.

Tracy Marks narration was perfect as have been throughout this books.

Quick and solid

This audiobook seemed to fly by. The relationship progressed very fast but that was the plot line, just not something I am used to reading. The H/h are great and I really enjoy them together and their sizzle! This author is very good and I look forward to more of this series. The story is complete in this book but I love reading about previous hero's and hopefully new ones! Good tension throughout. Great mafia storyline. The narrator does an excellent job bringing him to life (yummy accent and all).

A Zavarelli and mob romance... go together so well!!

This is an awesome book! A Zavarelli does such a job with mafia/mob romance books! She makes you want to find out what happens to the characters!

Ivy is in trouble from the beginning of this book. Conor is tasked to watch over her... her life is in danger.. first due to Conor himself, then by others.

I enjoyed this story. I recommend it!

Tracy Marks is a good narrator. Living in the Northeast, I find her Boston accent a bit off, but her voice is easy to listen to and her Irish accent is pleasant.

Conor

Tracy Marks did an amazing job with this narration. While it was in dual POV and I probably would’ve enjoyed it more with two narrators I don’t think that necessarily took away from the experience. Another great A Zavarelli book to add to the favorites!

Conor

This is only the second book in the series that I have listened to but so far, it's my favorite one. Conor wasn't very likable at first but he quickly turned into an honorable and kind man to Ivy. I loved the connection that they shared, and I really enjoyed their story. Tracy Marks did a great job with the male and female characters and all the various accents they had.

A. Zavarelli and Tracy Marks = awesome team

I love Conor so much. I have found a new book boyfriend. This book was shorter than the others, but no less enjoyable. I feel that Conor's story has been building throughout the series, and we finally get his story. Loved it. Tracy Marks did a great job.

A good mob story focused on emotions

While there were pockets of violence (the beginning was a little vomit inducing), overall, the focus of the story is about the emotions and growing love and trust between Conor and Ivy. Ivy sees a hit and Conor has to choose between killing her or marrying her. And they decide to marry. But the violence and miscommunication cause issues before they get their HEA (well, as much as possible for mobsters, perhaps?)

The narration was good- it is dual POV so I wish there was a male voice as well but Tracy Marks tried. She affected an Irish accent for Conor and a Bostonian (?) accent for Ivy. I didn't think they were very accurate (but who knows!) but she did a good job narrating overall.

Love these characters

This is a great mafia book. Not too over the top with the mafia side and more on the human side of things. Good strong characters.

Conor!!

The Boston Underworld series is one of my all time favorites, and this one just reminds me why! A Zavarelli has the ideal mixture of romance and suspense in each one and Conor brings the series to the perfect ending! Ivy may have information she shouldn't have, so Conor is entrusted to retrieve it. What is not expected is Ivy's son Archer. To protect them both, Conor does what he has to, and these two become the unsuspecting couple. In true Zavarelli style, she gives us Conor, the loyal til the end, brave and protective alpha male. I loved him, especially his interaction with Archer. Ivy proves to be a worthy opponent, wiling to do anything to protect her son and finds herself having to protect her heart. Just the right amount of suspense, some cameos from our previous heroes(Reaper...what a visit he makes!) and a romance to melt your heart, it is a wonderful ending to this incredible series.

Now, the narration....Tracy Marks is one of my all time favorite narrators, and she nails this series. From Crow to Conor, her impeccable Irish accent, used for so many characters is what makes listening so entertaining. Add in the Boston sound for Ivy in this one and it made the story come to life. A better pick for a narrator could not have been found!

I hate that it was so short

I think Connor was my favorite of all the guys besides Alexei. The series was dark but I enjoyed every single book.

Zavarelli is back to business

I liked this audiobook a lot. It was genuine Zavarelli. I loved her boston underworld serie but felt she got lost while writing other books that werent nearly as good as Crow, Reaper and Saint. I actually returned thief but may try it again after getting this positive reading experience. I sincerely hope book with dark romance with Boris in it so that he can find his own russian songbird like Alexy. Love Tracy Marks. She's even better than the author and this serie in itself is worth gold.

It’s okay, love. I’ve got you.

Conor is the sixth book in the Boston Underworld Series. A Mafia Romance Series that evokes passion, action, and romance with every single turn of the page! Conor O’ Callahan has been trying hard his whole life to prove his worth to his Irish brothers! When he is given the assignment to keep an eye on Ivy, he thinks he is finally getting the chance of a lifetime. In actuality, he is about to meet the love of his life and she is going to turn his entire world upside down!

Told in multiple POV, Conor is another Boston Underworld Masterpiece with non-stop action, alpha male heroes, and smoking hot passion! Ivy has quite a bit of baggage and it is Conor who is able to help her unpack it all and teach her how to love and trust again!

Overall, I highly recommend Conor and the entire Boston Underworld Series to Mafia Romance Lovers. This is one group of Mafia Men you are going to want to meet!

Tracy Marks Is Fantastic

I love that Conor got his own book! I've enjoyed listening to Tracy Marks narrate this entire series and hearing her give voice to Conor was fantastic.
As the youngest member of the MacKenna syndicate, Conor is always looking to prove his loyalty to the family. So when Lachlan Crow gives him the direct order to keep an eye on the newest stripper at Slainte, Ivy, Conor does the one thing he knows he shouldn't...he marries her. Trying to protect her from her past, marrying her seems like the safest solution until he realizes that now he is also caught up in the danger she was trying to escape.

My kind of hero and heroine!

Audiobook: Narrator – Tracy Marks

Ms. Marks is definitely the voice of this series and I can’t imagine listening to it with any other narrator. She does such a superb job of bringing these characters to life, showcasing a depth of emotion that is unparalleled to other audios I’ve listened to. I never struggle with her male/female voices and she has their accents down perfectly, at least for the Texan who, honestly, wouldn’t know a true Boston/Irish accent if it bit her on the nose. But nevertheless, I’m accepting it as 100% legit and you can’t change my mind.

I hate that this is the last of the series, or at least it appears to be. I’ve loved every book and this one rocketed my love for it into the stratosphere.

I love a story where the heroine is the underdog, sweet and in trouble with no help in sight. And that’s exactly what I got with Ivy. She’s in desperate need of a job, and in her attempts to get one she has put herself on the Irish Mob’s radar. Enter Connor.

Connor was pulled into the Irish mafia when he went in search for revenge against his brother’s killer. Since that time he’s continued to prove himself to them, although it’s really only in his own mind. When he’s tasked with finding out what Ivy’s story is he resents not only the job, but her. His misconceptions about her lead to a fiery meeting as well as additional moments which has him treating her pretty shabbily. But as in the very best of stories, once he realizes her true circumstances, he allows his alpha light to shine.

I loved that Connor was so protective and possessive of Ivy. Even when he was fighting his own feelings towards her, he couldn’t stop himself from protecting her. Ivy was sweet and caring, and she grabbed Connor’s heart from pretty much the beginning. This couple have a lot to overcome, both in their relationship as well as from outside sources. But through it all there was never a doubt that they were meant for each other and their chemistry was electric.
This is a fast read/listen and I gobbled it down as quickly as possible. The steam is scorching and the characters were well developed with backgrounds that captured my heart and had me rooting for them as not only individuals but as a couple. Secondary characters help to move the story along and there is some pretty graphic violence that resulted in more graphic violence. I was completely cheering on the latter violence.

Loved, loved, loved this one. Perfect if you like the sweet helpless heroine and jealous possessive alpha hero.
