What the Critics Say

"You don't analyse such sunlit perfection, you just bask in its warmth and splendour." (Stephen Fry)

"Jeeves and Bertie are as immortal as Don Quixote and Sancho Panza, or Falstaff and Prince Hal, and, quite often, a good deal funnier." (John Mortimer, Daily Telegraph)

    "Good old Jeeves"

Another great Jeeves audio book. Something light and enjoyable to listen to as you pass the time. Whenever I want something jolly and easy to listen to I turn to Bertie & Jeeves to lighten the day. Well read and very enjoyable. If you like to listen to old fashioned first world problems and laugh at the scrapes Bertie gets into this is for you

    "Danger to other motorway users"

I nearly had to stop driving several times on a ten-hour drive to north of Inverness due to outbursts of hysterical laughter - and once there, would have had to drive around the whole of Loch Shin to finish the last story, had I not started it early enough in the journey. Brilliantly and sympathetically read, so that the stories are immediately as comforting and familiar as an old friend - and at the same time as fresh and funny as if just written. As timeless and brilliant as ever; - should be added to school curriculum as all other humour can be measured by this benchmark

"Feel good, laugh out loud stories"

Very easy listening, likeable characters, entertaining stories. Cecil's portrayals of Jeeves and Bertie are on point.

"Jonathan Cecil narrates a perfect Bertie Wooster"

Age 58, England I'm a late-comer to Jeeves & Wooster and bought these to pep up the car journey to and from work.
There are others who speak these books but Jonathan Cecil is absolutely spot on, and to this extent the spoken book is better than TV adaptations and also reading the real book.
    Example.
Carry on Jeeves - Chapter 8 - Fixing it for Freddy. There's a scene where Jeeves has visited the Cinema giving him an idea to resolve a situation. Bertie is 'a trifle frosty' with him. The dialogue and emphasis is wonderfully done by Wodehouse & by Cecil narrating as he has to do both the young master and Jeeves.
    10/10
Beautifully written gentle humour taking one back to a nicer place.

"Jonathan Cecil is the king for P G Wodehouse.."

I love all P G Wodehouse books. I find Jonathan Cecil is by far the best narrator for these books although american accents a bit iffy sometimes.
