Summary
For Logan Anderson, moving on from a traumatic past means moving back to his hometown of Castle Rock, Colorado, to start a personal-security business with his brothers. But it's not long before Logan runs into Grace Mason, his best friend from high school...and the woman who never answered his letters during his Army years.
Grace was pleasantly surprised to see Logan return to Castle Rock, despite their falling-out ten years ago. Everyone always assumed they would end up together, including Grace, who had eyes only for him. But as Logan eventually escaped their town, Grace got pulled further into her family's controlling grasp - and farther away from the man she loved.
Now, united by scars both visible and not, the two must fight to free Grace from the suffocating hold of her family. But the Masons won't let go easily - and they'll do whatever it takes to keep the couple apart.

The past catches up
I was a bit disappointed by this book. It's great if your into steamy sex scenes but I thought the dialogue was a bit laboured therefor the story appeared to be padded out . If it's your kind of genre you'll enjoy the book.

good narrator, overall enjoyable

Overall I enjoyed this, but there was some crazy stuff I'm not totally convinced about that perhaps pushed the boundaries of fiction mixed with reality.
The author tackled a tough subject with Grace, severe emotional abuse by her parents when to the outside world she appears to have everything. I'm pretty sure she'd need a lot of counselling to heal and I was a bit surprised after everything Logan went through as a child he didnt believe in emotional abuse to start with. Saying that, Logan was a sweetie and I liked his brothers too, so I'm sure I'll download the next in the series.
I listened to the audio version and I liked the narrators expressive voice.
