Summary

She broke their laws. Now, he has come to punish her...

In my human settlement on the hostile plains of Dakkar, I am an outcast, a strange girl orphaned since birth, alone, and dreaming of a life I don't have. I hunt to survive, though it is forbidden, though it breaks the strict Dakkari laws that we all must follow.

When my desperate actions catch the attention of a Dakkari horde king - a cold, powerful, and merciless warrior leader, with eyes like flint and a body like steel - he seeks to punish me...and he succeeds.

But then he does the unexpected.

Instead of taking my life, he claims me as his own.

He steals me from my village and brings me back to his battle-bred horde. There, I warm his bed. I make bargains with him on starry, cold nights. I look into his grey eyes and see not a monster, but a demon king who captures my soul.

But demons have a way of never letting go...and as the cold season descends upon Dakkar, I begin to wonder if I even want him to, even when it hurts.

Claimed by the Horde King is a full-length SFR novel with an HEA. It is the second book of the Horde Kings of Dakkar series.

Zoey doesn't waste words

So neat. I love these characters. you can feel their struggles and every time I experience their emotions my heart squeezes. That is how well written this is. The narration is perfect too. Highly recommended!

Love this series

As I have said with the first book in this series, i don’t like to give away the story. If you liked the first book, then you will this one too. If you haven’t seen this series before, then i recommend it. If you like fiction with a couple finding love, then you will love this Horde King series. Cant wait for the next book to come out. Hope it will be soon.

Great story

The actors voices really bring this story to life.
The female character is strong which I personally always like and the horde King a very dominant character but a respectable way.
I would definitely recommend.

Wish the heroine wasn't so quick to forgive

I absolutely love Zoey Dravens writing and ability to tell a story.

The first book in this story is my favorite book in the entire genre.

This was great also, however it annoyed me the heroine was so quick to forgive. Sometimes it came across as too desperate. My biggest pet peeve in any story is a weak heroine. I would by no means call her weak, just wish she wasn't so forthplcoming with her feelings and didn't come across desperate at times. It frustrated me when she accepted his non apology and agreed to a "maybe ". I want to see a heroine who'd respond to that with "you can fuck right off until you're begging."

I ABSOLUTELY loved the dual POV between h and H.

It was still great, but I'm hoping the heroine in the next one is a bit stronger.

Overall I loved it and was sad once it was over.

It was a good horde romance

I love Zoey Draven's work, and I was so excited for this next book. I might have had higher expectations so it didn't feel completely satisfying but I did love the main characters personality.

More emotion.. So good

This one had me yoyo-ing in my feelings. Serin really did have the push pull thing going on. But the grovel was worth it. The fact Nelle didn't give in right away sealed it, Plus faithful from the start.

Great Out of this World Story! Awesome Narration🎧

This is an amazing SciFi Fantasy Paranormal Romance, it is my first book written by Zoey Draven and it will not be my last. I enjoyed her writing style and the imaginative story and characters she created. They are interesting and original, and while this is a fantasy featuring alien beings, she made them realistic and easy to relate to. There is great character development and world building, Ms. Draven’s descriptive and detailed writing gives you a clear picture making it easy to follow the world dynamics and characters. Nelle, a vekkiri, aka human girl, lives in a settlement with other humans. Rations are limited so she chooses to hunt so she could trade for food, which is against the Dakkari law, it is punishable by death if caught. She was spotted by the Horde King of Dakkar and he comes to her village the next day to punish her, which he does but stops short after seeing something in her eye captured him and set him off kilter. He decides to take her with him back to the Horde. I loved how everything played out in this book, it is cleverly plotted and there is never a dull moment. There is plenty of drama, angst, some heartfelt moments and a great slow burn romance. Zoey Draven, thank you for this terrific story, I am looking forward to checking out more of your work.

I listened to the Audible edition, Lia Longola and Aaron Shedlock are fantastic narrators and voice artists. They bring the characters to life, giving each their own voice and personality. They did an amazing job portraying the characters, capturing and projecting their emotions in to their performance. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another awesome listen🎧
