About this listen

With her new product line launched and an updated version of her suit to test, Tori Rivas is ready to focus on her work for a while. But when an eruption of power elsewhere in the multiverse sends monsters bursting into her world, the young villain will find herself in the crosshairs of an unexpected invader.

As if being pursued by an unknown entity from outside her own reality wasn't enough to handle, there's also developing her product line, exploring her suit's new capabilities, and maybe even making some extra money on the side. Add in extradimensional monsters popping in without warning, and Ridge City is even more chaotic than usual.

Yet more danger lurks unseen, as the Rookstone escapees have begun to hatch their own schemes. One of which is a primal force whose goal cannot be denied. No matter what, or who, stands in his way.

Drew Hayes did it again. An immersive world, amazing plot and interesting characters. The way this book ended has opened up the doors to a number of different possibilities.

I'm hoping for a crossover, but... I can only hope.

amazing as per usual

Book 3 in the Villains Code series has a frenetic pace with a surprising amount of heart and humour. Some genuinely sweet moments between several action pieces that had me on the edge of my seat. I love this series and cant wait for more.

A fast paced Super Hero epic

been waiting for this since I first binged the first two books and discovered drew Hayes' stuff back in 2021. still my favourite of his series and despite the wait or because of it, it was well worth it. between the casual world building sprinkled in as parts of every conversation to the few of them that foreshadow something important to the real and well developed characters both main and side that make this world feel alive.

spoiler below but kept vague.

the Law was handled really well in the climax as it needed to be early enough to be impactful for cliche, while not being too early and breaking the stakes and agency of the other main cast. you hit the sweet spot perfectly.

can't wait to see more from villians code in future. be it more vignettes or the next book. I'll be happy waiting.

another amazing story.

Genuinely love this series and was eagerly awaiting the next installment.

I did enjoy this one but felt the story wasn't as tight and put together as the previous entries. Might just be I made my expectations a bit too high. But the pace felt a bit too fast compared to the previous parts with the story feeling a bit weaker as a result. Despite that the events that happened did keep me entertained.

Amy Landon keeps up a stellar perfomance at no point did I lose track of which character was speaking when she voiced them, with a large cast of characters to voice it speaks to her skill.

Regardless of my minor gripes still loved the book and look forward to more entries in this world that has captured my facination. Especially look forward to the Vinettes 2 when that gets narrated.

Another fun entry
