Summary

Chase Baker, the Renaissance man, is back in a sexy, thrilling action-adventure from best-selling author, Vincent Zandri.

Chase, seeking inspiration for a new book, and a big pay-off, stumbles onto the opportunity of a lifetime: to use his PI and archaeological sandhogging skills to seek out an aircraft hidden deep in a remote part of the Amazon jungle. But the aircraft in question isn't any old airplane. Legend claims it's an ancient flying machine called the Golden Condor - an intergalactic spaceship delivered to the Incas by aliens more than 1000 years ago.

There's a catch, of course. Hostile tribal natives, in collaboration with a band of Tupac Amaru revolutionary terrorists, will stop at nothing to murder Chase, his team of explorers, and his beautiful literary agent, before they reach the Condor. And if the terrorists don't kill them, then the writhing, creeping jungle almost certainly will.

But in typical Chase Baker style, once he sets his sights on the prize, nothing will stand in his way. They are embarking on a mission that, if it succeeds, will change the way historians view the ancient Inca civilization - and alter society's beliefs about early man and the heavens above.

A Fun Adventure

A fast moving adventure,, could have been better, a jungle trek to find a golden plane.... but the person who hired him magically appears when he gets there... why did he send Chase if he knew where it was?? Overall not a bad book if you want entertaining and can overlook a few plot flaws

"Maybe we're all ghosts and just don't know it."

Any additional comments?

This is a fun book with great, larger than life characters and a fast paced King Solomon's Mines type adventure. Author Chase Baker and his recently impoverished, but sexy, literary agent, Lesley, set off for Peru with two companions. They have all been employed by a rich but dying man to find the location marked on a map drawn by the man's father more than half a century before. Of course, it all goes wrong ...

Chase Baker, archaeologist, explorer and author in search of a story is telling the tale as it happens and so narrator Andrew B.Wehrien becomes Chase for this reading. Fast talking with a nice sardonic expression, he delivers a fine performance of the adventurer himself as well as voicing the other protagonists with nicely differentiated speech (although one did have a most peculiar accent). His performance added to the light-hearted excitement of the story. All jolly good fun.

My thanks to the right's holder of this Chase Baker story, who gifted me a copy via Audiobook Boom. I listened to it in one sitting enjoying the sexy silliness and swashbuckling adventure enormously. Just the thing to brighten a miserable morning. Or evening. Or weekend ... Whatever.
As I said earlier, a good, fun story, well narrated in technicolour. Enjoy!

Move over Indiana Jones! Chase Baker is here!

Chase Baker and the Golden Condor
Chase Baker Thriller Series, Book 2
By: Vincent Zandri
Narrated by: Andrew B. Wehrlen
What an exciting series! Indiana Jones move over! Chase Baker and his agent, along with a team set out to find an ancient flying machine. I mean ancient as in Inca times or later. Is it from aliens? Does it really exist? It shows up on Inca markings and stories are told of it and rumored about it but does it really exist?
The man who sent them, his father went searching for it over 40 years ago and never came back so it is a very dangerous mission. Chase is all about the danger. Danger is what they face. Lots of adventure, excitement, suspense, and so much more! Never dull! Fast paced, and exciting situations, interesting characters, and lots of twists and turns. A touch of the supernatural thrown in for good measure! Just like Indiana Jones! Great fun!
The narrator is an absolute dream! The perfect voice for this book. You can feel the excitement in his voice, the suspense, the danger, and all the other emotions encountered. He performs the women's voices and the different men perfectly. Great job! I enjoyed this book completely!

More Chase Adventure

Chase Baker is an irreverent Indy Jones in the modern age. This 2nd book is shorter than the first (which was Excellent) but not lacking for action, suspense, and plenty of plot twists to keep you guessing until the end. Zandri's books always have a bit of mysticism in them, just enough to make you think about it. I've already purchased book 3 and looking forward to it!

Good Mystery & Sci-fi.

Chase Baker and Golden Condor..book.3 .......Vincent.Zandri ...narrator .Andrew.B.Wherlen Chase Baker and his team are off to the jungles to find an Inca ancient golden flying machine. The son, it was his father not finding it 40 years ago, that was funding the project. Suspense, adventure as they encounter rebels, and a sci-fi legend. Narration by Wherlen was good, clear and added greatly to the story. Given ARC for my voluntary review and my honest opinion ....

Chase Baker #2 in the Series is ... #2 in the John

I was making my way backwards through the series and this was definitely more sexier ... in an unexpected way. Clearly, it was written more eloquently or discreetly or tactfully in other books.
The plot and world building lacked as Chase was busier ... getting busy.
I don't think I'm following Chase Baker anymore. His more recent works are better than his earlier. In every sense of the phrase.

Better than the first

Any additional comments?

Overall, I think this book was better written than the first in the series. Gives me hope for the next book. I like the performance. I think the narrator does "snark" well. I received this audiobook for free through Audiobook Boom for my unbiased review.

Entertaining and Enjoyable

Any additional comments?

Another very entertaining, fun and enjoyable addition to the series. Even though it's a shorter book, it doesn't feel like it. Definitely an unusual and intriguing story. Interesting plot. Plenty of mystery and suspense with some very unexpected twists & turns. The wit and sarcasm just add to the overall enjoyment of the story.

Andrew B. Wehrlen did a fantastic job with the narration as usual. Pleasant voice, easy to listen to for long periods of time. Perfect for narrating books. Great character voices. Delivery of the sarcasm was perfect. Clearly spoken with a nice even pace. He pulls you into the story and transplants you in the middle of the action with his narration. Very enjoyable. He's at the top of my list of favorite narrators.

I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator or publisher.
