Summary

He's her patient. She's his doctor. They shouldn't. But God, do they want to.

Camden Harris, the famously hot, hulk of a footballer is laid up in a London hospital. But his busted knee doesn't stop him from running his well-practiced game on Indie Porter - his redheaded spitfire of a doctor. She's not his type, not even close. But she could be the perfect distraction from the soul-crushing damage this injury could cost him.

Indie's tired of her naivety putting a target on her back. As a gifted child, she's let her education take the front seat her whole life. But a fling with a footballer like Camden might be just what she needs to grab life by the balls.

And he could be the perfect guy for the plan she's been sitting on for over two years.

But when feelings make a final play, there's no amount of medicine that can heal the damage to their hearts.

MY FIRST BOOK BY THIS AUTHOR

My first book by this author and I listened to Challenge on Audio.

I don't know if it was the audio version that had me laughing out loud, the way the narrator gave Cam the Cheekie chappie cockney character but I loved it and it would be interesting to see if reading the book would have the same effect.

The story though was great. Camden Harris is a rising star in British football, at a pinnacle in his career but an injury on the field results in a trip to the ER and in need of an operation.

Indie is the Doctor on duty when Cam is brought in, Cam on pain drugs and high thinks he is seeing a red-headed angel. Cam is charming, funny, cheeky and full of innuendoes. I loved his character.

Indi is a virgin and has a penis list that she drafted up with her friend, she is very specific of who she wants to lose her virginity to and eventually work through the list.

P 1 would be a player, a bad boy...
P 2 would be a romantic guy.
P 3 would be a mixture of P#1 & 2.

Personally, I didn't get the penis list, I thought it was silly for a 24-year-old to have such a list but it was a big part of the plot due to Indie pulling away from Cam wanting to carry on with her penis adventures before settling down.

There was a constant push and pull with the characters mainly on Indie's part, the girl just didn't know what she wanted or knew how to show her feelings so often coming across as cold.

Camden had been brought up in a big family where he had the love of his brothers, sister, and dad, indie, however, had no-one and this caring and showing emotion was a whole new concept for Indie.

In summary, Challenge is a great story, a lighthearted read that had hotness, laughter and a cheeky footballer who went from playboy to a one-woman man.

I will definitely listen to the next book in the series, the Harris brothers are so likable and funny i have already downloaded Keeper and plan on reading Endurance.

looking forward to the rest of the series

i really enjoyed this book and have to admit that seen as how its an american writing the book, she didnt do half bad at getting our terminology right and the correct way we use 'bad' lauguage both in humour and in general and was able to use British humour correctly. in fact the only fault i could find was the use of 'sidewalk' instead of 'pavement'. its certainly the best/closest representation of us Brits from our authour friends from across the pond that ive listened to. well done Ms Daws. im looking forward to listening to the others in the series and will definitely be serching out her other audio books.

Narration heaven, duet style.

I initially struggled with this book as it is set in my professional world and the ethics of the relationship were problematic to me even though I know this is fiction. But as the couple grew on me, I enjoyed it more and more.

The duet narration style was superb and both British narrators had wonderful voices and emotion, capturing the characters perfectly. If only all audiobooks set in the UK with Brits had accents like this. The story was fun, serious, hot and allowed me to escape into the world of Cam and Indy. Cam was quite the evolving man and I really came to like him.

This was my first book by Amy Daws and it has left me highly anticipating the next brother. I look forward to reading and listening to more of her work.

This story definitely 'scores a hat trick'

Any additional comments?

I was gifted a copy of this audiobook in exchange for a fair and honest review. This is the first book by Amy Daws that I have read but it definitely scored a 'hat trick' with me, I thoroughly enjoyed the storyline, characters and the narration. I wasn't sure I would be able to get into this book as I'm not overly keen on 'sports' storylines but there was just enough in this story to give you a feel for the sport without becoming too technical. Indie and Cam are great characters with lots of attitude and chemistry, as are some of the lesser characters. I really enjoyed the dual narration of this book, both of the narrators bring their characters to life and I loved the different accents used for other characters too. It definitely adds more depth to the scenes and storyline. I can honestly say that I am looking forward to meeting the rest of the 'Harris' brothers.

I'm in love with the Harris brothers

I love Amy Daws' audibles and this is up there with the best of them. I loved her London Lovers series and although it's not part of the series we have a crossover of characters. We follow resident doctor Indie Porter as she attempts to do groundbreaking surgery on soccer player Camden Harris (he's a player on and off the pitch), following a bad tackle during a match. Indie has so many issues, issues that I didn't understand until later in the story, which meant I found her cold hearted and callous with Camden at times, and especially in her pursuit to lose her V card. Even though Camden was a player, I was very much sympathetic to him and his issues and I really loved his openness. He was the perfect book boyfriend. The chemistry between them both was swoon worthy. Indie's work ethics went out the window when she came across Camden's smoulder, and the doctor patient line was well and truly crossed. Once she finally came clean about her life and her feelings I found I actually really liked her. I am so looking forward to the rest of the brothers' stories, I just love these boys. The story was narrated in Duet, which really worked for me in thus instance. I loved the narrators (I've finally got used to the British accent in an audio, and although some annoy me, these worked for me). Twinnies story next I'm hoping

Challenge Accepted

I have a little obsession with all things Harris Brothers. I've read Challenge twice and thought it would be great to challenge myself and listen to the audio too. And boy am I glad that I did. The audio book of this novel is just as good as reading Amy Daws brilliant words.

Here we have two talented narrators giving life to Camden and Indie, the best possible voices for these two and ones who really draw you into the story. I may now have a secret crush on a certain male narrator.

Amy Daws is a fantastic author, so talented and real. She brings you characters that are flawed, challenging, a handful (in the best way) and down right beautiful. I am a huge fan and fangirling like crazy over these Harris Brothers and the world they create.

Amazing!!

Duet narration done great

4 5*

This really was very surprising. The audiobook was on point and I loved the duel narration. The banter was funny and the steam was plenty steamy. The only thing that annoyed me was Indie and her tendency to run and never talk to anyone and just assume everyone will dump her.. it made the conflict seem a little forced.
