Summary

They were best friends until they became roommates. Booker Harris has spent the last several years pushing himself to become the best goalkeeper in the Championship League. Tired of living in the shadows of his headline-splashing brothers, he has finally carved a path of his own. As a child, Poppy McAdams was content in her own little make-believe world, until the boy next door with dimples and pained eyes came barreling into her makeshift fort demanding all her attention. Best friends for most of their lives, everything changes when Poppy abruptly leaves London for University. Now she is back, and gone is the awkward girl from Booker's youth. She has been replaced by a stunning woman with secrets. Secrets that Booker is desperate to know. Sharing a bedroom wall with your best friend from childhood quickly turns to anything but sweet and innocent.

One of my favourite books of 2017

Oh, My God!!!! Why has it taken me so long to dive into this series? And why has nobody been hitting me over the head demanding I read or listen to it? My god, people! I am in love with this book. The humour, the setting, and the trope. It was all perfect. One of my favourite books of 2017! I’ll admit I was a little worried; an American setting her books in England, pfft, I’ve experienced that before and regretted it but what Amy Daws does is amazing, she’s done her homework! At no point did I sit there and think 'clearly this has been written by an American.' I now need to dive into the other books. I need the twins’ stories, and Violet’s. And what about Gareth? I want them all.

Amy’s writing is so engaging. She creates characters that you want to spend time with. I zoomed through this book because I just couldn’t bring myself to hit pause. I finished it at 6.30am, I literally spent the night with these characters because I couldn’t pull myself away. That to me is the mark of an excellent book. This story was so incredibly entertaining. I laughed, I cried, and yes, I swooned too. It’s been a couple of days, and I am still thinking about it and talking about it. I’m sure my book buddies are fed up of me!

This book is filled with characters that you’ll love, as mentioned above, I need to go back and listen to the other books because I need more time and more info about the Harris family.
Booker is a complete sweetheart, who at times, I wanted to punch in the balls, just because, he was so frustrating. We knew how he felt but he just needed a little push. He had great banter with his brothers, but you also felt sorry for him, being younger he never really stood his ground, until he did, and I have to say I was cheering him on!
I adored Poppy, she was crazy – in a good way, so funny. I loved her little eccentric ways, the singing the end of sentences was cute and fit her so well. I usually don’t enjoy female characters as much as the male ones, but Poppy was so awesome, I loved her just as much as Booker. She dealt with a number of different issues in the book and I thought she handled them gracefully. (For example, she didn’t punch Booker in the balls!). Poppy for the win!

I loved the friends to lovers theme of this book. The banter between Booker and Poppy was a highlight for me. A true friendship. I really enjoyed listening to their story unfold and how their friendship turned into something more. How they tried to fight it, well, Booker, at least. Thankfully he was able to get with the programme and make us all happy. It was sweet and sexy. The sexy times were very well written and played a pivotal role in the story. Although it’s a sports romance there isn’t a lot of sport in it, so if that has you on the fence, jump on over, it’ll be worth it, I promise.

This duet narration was fantastic. You really felt a part of the story, like you were truly experiencing it. It’s the first time I’ve heard anything by either narrator and they blew me away. The inflections and accents used to differentiate between the characters were outstanding, and the way both of them performed the emotional moments were wonderful and may have caused a few tears. The sexy times were performed brilliantly, and well, sexily. Charlotte Cole was fabulous as Poppy, she really encompassed this character, and I especially loved the inclusion of the singing. Will M Watt was so charming as Booker (I may have swooned) and really hit the emotional moments so perfectly. He also did a fabulous Scottish accent that I think will have the American listenership swooning all over the place. The production was smooth with no issues.

Sometimes you’ve got to trust the back of the net 🥅

Booker is another one of the brothers who’s just came into my life and stole a bit of my heart.
I loved his story the best friend to lovers with a twist (which FYI Andrew is hilarious)
Growing up with the fear of being left behind is every child’s worst fear especially when having such a big family, but as time goes on booker struggles with this more and more as an adult.

Poppy she is such a doll. I loved her determination of wanting what she wants and not backing down to settle for anything less, shes got such a big heart and I really felt her struggles.

But sometimes in life even as a keeper you have to kick the ball with trust and the ability to believe & just sometimes the back of the net might not be as scary as you think. It can even be home 🏠

I’m off to cry now that I’ve completed the Harris series and might have to already re-listen 🎧

Amy you have a new stalker 👀 😂

One of the best in the series so far

When I received the invite to listen to this audiobook I was jumping up and down. I was so excited. I loved Challenge and Endurance, and Keeper did not disappoint.

I love Ms. Daws writing and this was my first audiobook for her story and I have to say she chose the narrators perfectly. They caught all the emotions how I imagined them
In my head. Simply perfect.

Booker and Poppy are just amazing together. As a friends and as a couple. But it doesn’t mean there was no drama to get to the stage of being lovers. This book is so packed with feels that I sometimes felt overwhelmed. And it. Was. Amazing.

Loved every second of this audiobook.

Fabulous

The narrative on this audio is absolutely wonderful, I love that Amy Daws has obviously put so much time and effort into make sure this audio is at its best. Doing the dual narration makes this audio better, casting fantastic readers, another added bonus for me. Some authors just don’t think that much into it and for me that can often spoil the book. A wonderful story turn into an amazing audio.

Keeper is the 3rd book in the Harris Brothers series of British Sports Romances which as a Brit i love hearing football knowing it is meant as football as most books refer to it as soccer which i always find strange to say and i absolutely adored Booker and Poppy's story.

Booker Harris is a professional Goalkeeper, who's life was turned upside down when his childhood best friend left for Germany to attend college, without giving him a reason or a proper goodbye.
Poppy is this head strong, sweet and funny girl who is more than a little clumsy. Having loved Booker for as long as she can remember, when she left for college in Germany she was nursing a broken heart and never told Booker why!!

6 years later and Poppy returns to take a teaching job, having only kept minimal contact with Booker she's shocked and nervous when Booker suggests that she temporarily move in with him. How is this going to work out when two friends who haven't seen each other for 6 years come together again with so much they are hiding from each other.

I loved watching Booker and Poppy grow and work thinks out in their minds, with lots of great witt and humour. From the moment he sets eyes on Poppy for the first time, feelings he didn't realise he had come bubbling to the surface. But Booker doesn't believe he is capable of love outside of his family and tries to fight what feels like his destiny to be with Poppy. Poppy too struggles with her feelings for Booker, not being able to put the past behind her.

This read was packed with moments that will melt your heart, make you laugh out loud, with heartbreak and hotness that will have you fanning yourself and all the drama of a not so easy friends to lovers story. I literally couldn’t put it down and i'm looking forward to the last Harris brother story.

5 Stubborn Booker Stars

Aah. I love the Harris Brothers and Booker is up there with the best of them. What a wonderful family, with a fantastic support network of wonderful family, friends and girlfriends. Book 3 Keeper, follows the youngest brother Booker Harris and his lifelong best friend Poppy McAdams. Poppy McAdams who has been in love with her best friend Booker, for like ever! I love friends to lovers, along with the tension, the chemistry and the angst. This had it all, and you know, you just know, when they become more than best friends and they swear that nothing will every change, no matter what. You know that it will, then you spend the rest of the book trying to find out how they’re going to make it work. In Keeper we also have a major ‘oh no, I did not see that coming’ In the mix that just added to the beautiful story. What a wonderful story, with a strong heroine and a sweet, if not sometimes stubborn and stupid, hero. Narrated perfectly by Will M Watt and Charlotte Cole, and I have to say, I can’t imagine anyone else doing the job quite as well. I love them together. What a wonderful read.

Fabulous!

Thoroughly enjoyed this book. The narration was good, as was the story. I've not read/listened the other books on this series, but did not feel if missed anything (though I will do a catch up - I'm keen to see the other Harris brothers stories).

The story was well paced, and had me laughing out loud in places. The characters were well written and I enjoyed their interations. Fabulous!

fine wine

Amy Daws is like fine wine. She gets better and better With each book. This book is her best book to this day. So i can only say i have great expectation for her next book.
Ever since we met the Harris boys for the first time. Booker have been my favorit. I fell in love with the protector. The keeper is abit softer than his his Brothers. But damn that just made me love him that much more.
Booker is a keeper.
Will and Charlotte does an outstanding job narrating this book in duet. Not many can do it. But when it is done right. It is the best experience ever. And makes a 5 star book into a 6 star.
