About this listen

Pendergast--the world's most enigmatic FBI Special Agent--returns to New York City to investigate a murderous cult.

William Smithback, a New York Times reporter, and his wife Nora Kelly, a Museum of Natural History archaeologist, are brutally attacked in their apartment on Manhattan's Upper West Side. Eyewitnesses claim, and the security camera confirms, that the assailant was their strange, sinister neighbor--a man who, by all reports, was already dead and buried weeks earlier. While Captain Laura Hayward leads the official investigation, Pendergast and Lieutenant Vincent D'Agosta undertake their own private--and decidedly unorthodox--quest for the truth. Their serpentine journey takes them to an enclave of Manhattan they never imagined could exist: a secretive, reclusive cult of Obeah and vodou which no outsiders have ever survived.©2009 Grand Central Publishing; (P)2009 Hachette

Really enjoying this series, lots of quirks. Totally gutted about the loss of one of the characters but I like that some characters keep returning if only every so often.

Love it!

It’s impossible to put this series in one genre. It’s a weird great mix of mystery and fantasy and occult to name a few. They are exciting and great fun

The Pendergast series is first rate

long may this series continue! I simply love these characters and how they have developed throughout the books. They complement each other and the storyline even though there is a follow on aspect to each book you can equally enjoy them individually.

as always brilliant!

Just like the good old books from before the Diogenes trilogy.
Surprises all through with a nice portion of karma at the end.

Classic pendergast

Where does Cemetery Dance rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Not bad at all. I really enjoyed the Pendergast series so far as they are easy going and fun. and this one is no exception.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Cemetery Dance?

It's a bit of twister and is set back in New York with some of the series most memorable characters. Another good yarn so no spoilers here just get involved.

What about Rene Auberjonois’s performance did you like?

The impressions from reader Rene on the monster were brilliant. Well done.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The ending. Again it would spoil it if I told you.

To Rene; that's the best Zombie sound bite ever!
