It gave what I always search for in a book a book, which is giving me all the feels. A roller coaster of emotion from laughing of the banter, to feeling excited, to really not liking some choices and actions that were made to blushing while listening to the spice that was off the charts. And why I loved them together. They just simply matched and bounced of each other's energy and when they both gave in to it in the best of ways♥️
I love CE writing style and the narrators choice was again spot on. Jacob Morgan and Christian Fox narration was Chef's kiss🫶🏾 So I highly recommend to go straight for the audio. You won't regret it😘

There was some scenes that you could feel the emotion in their voices when reading and that was great but throughout the rest of the narration, they both spoke in such a low monotone drone that it was really hard to notice the difference between the two characters. Plus, the low parts were so low I couldn’t hear what they were saying but then I’d turn the volume up and the next section was so loud it hurt my ears 🙈
I had to really zone in on who was actually speaking to realise it was either Holden or Nix.

Anyway, back to the story. I really enjoyed the whole thing. The first half with all the angry sexual tension, gazes and doing things they really shouldn’t was so hot and it only ramped up from there. Especially the first shower scene, holy hell.
However, I get that the entire story was about betraying a best friends trust but the whole having to take a break from each other and moving to another place to ensure that distance stays there (for now) does seem a bit extreme when they’re as close as they are. I get that they don’t want to rely on each other for everything but that doesn’t mean you then have to totally be apart from each other because that’s where you start to grow apart and it would be so sad for both of them.
I think not depending on each other is more than enough to ask, I just hope they’re still as close friends when they’re done with their ‘break’
That being said, I can’t wait for the third book to be released :D
