Summary

“I just want to apologize, but I can’t get close to him long enough to work up to it.”

Back home from his first year of university, River Reid has been designated the pet sitter for his sister’s cat, Almond. He doesn’t mind. He’s got the summer to figure out whether he wants to keep going to a local college or accept a sports scholarship from somewhere with a little more glamour. But things take a turn for the complicated when River has to rush Almond to the vet...and comes face to face with the nerd he bullied all through high school.

"I’m looking for a fresh start. Not a replay of my 10 most mortifying moments."

Love is the last thing on Weston’s mind. A bit of a geek who has always preferred animals to people, Weston is biding his time interning for Sunnydale Animal Hospital in hopes of a great recommendation and some clinic hours to put toward his education. Once the scholarship offers roll in, he’s out of there - off to conquer a new place that doesn’t remind him of the merciless bullying he faced as a teenager. Giving River a second chance was never part of his plans...but plans are subject to change.

Welcome to Sunnydale Vets, where love is the best medicine, and all it takes to fix your problems is the willingness to roll up your sleeves and get to work. This heartwarming audiobook features mentions of mpreg, an awkward reunion, a laidback jock chasing after an ambitious nerd, and one very satisfied cat. This audiobook and every other audiobook in the Sunnydale Vets series can be listened to in any order.

Brilliant

This was a brilliant book to listen to as we meet River who wants to atone for how he behaved in school to people like Weston. He see him when he takes his sisters cat in to the clinic but when he tries to talk to Weston he won’t talk about anything other than cat care. So he hatched a plan to get Weston attention which leads to them getting to together but it’s nearing the end of summer so they have decisions on where they are going to college.

Enemies to lovers!

River is back home from college on a break. He has decided to be a better person than his mean teenage years and apologize to all those he hurt. Weston is an intern at Sunnydale vet. One of River’s victims who won’t make it easy for him. Cute the way this two come about each other and get together. Biting my nails on what plans Weston had and if he’d leave River. Lovely story and great addition to the series.

Righting Past Wrongs

I loved Cat’s Got My Tongue. River Reid was somewhat of a bully in high school. Like so many of us, he made some mistakes while trying to find out who he was. Now, River is on a mission to make amends to those he hurt. Weston is the last person on his list of people to apologize to. He proves to be the hardest to get to accept his apology. Weston was very hurt by the way River treated him. The hurts of the past run deep. Weston really doesn’t want to listen to anything River has to say. Weston is an intern at Sunnydale Vets. As he cares for Almond, River’s sisters cat, he gets to know the man River is now. Their relationship is one step forward and two steps back. Austin has done a great job developing the characters and helping them work things out. Revisit Sunnydale Vets and see how he does it. Enjoy listening to Guillaume Dubois. He will make your day.

Thank you for the axc audio,I voluntarily give this a honest review. Guillaume Dubois did an amazing job of brings all these characters to life. River was trying to turn his life around from when he was in high school as a bully to some of the kids, when the last night on his list Weston want give him the chance to apologize River takes things further by bring almond his sister cat to the vet clinic where Weston works. can the once bullied alpha take a chance on the bully omega? thus was a wonderful enemies to lovers type book and just loved the vets Dale and sunny. great recommendation for a read.

enemies to lovers.

Thank heaven for Almond. River used her as his wing woman. lol. I liked River's persistence, even when he was being a pia! Weston had a huge heart and capacity for forgiveness that I found endearing. Can they make it work long distance or will it due a slow death? I enjoyed the narrator's voice and expressions.

Such a cute love story!

It’s amazing how enemies can turn to lovers once they stop being stubborn! Austin was able to portray a wonderful love story that started out with a rocky start. Loved the characters and the narrator!!!

as good as the ebook

The story is always 4 or 5 stars, because if I wouldn't like the story as ebook, I wouldn't listen to the audiobook.

The performance from the narrator is also very important for me. I can't listen to a lot, because my English as a non-native-speaker isn't so perfect to follow a whole story over hours, when the narrator speaks too fast or too sloppy. Normally I have to SEE the person, who is talking to me in English. It took me a little bit, to come into the narrator, but at the end, it worked. I only have to take a few breaks between. I'm just not yet finish with the book, but I listen enough to give a review.

PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!

To my ratings:

it's like an A+

4* - very good and will be often re-listening
it's like an A

3* - it's more then a one-time-listening, but not more then twice a year.
it's like a B

Enemies To Lovers!

A great enemies to lovers story. River really tries to apologize and make it up to Weston for having bullied him in high school. I'm glad that Weston doesn't make it easy for him and really makes him work for his second chance. I really enjoyed watching their relationship progress throughout the story. I found it funny how River kept using his sister's cat as an excuse to keep seeing Weston until Weston finally agreed to speak with him. The narrator was great and I enjoyed his interpretation of the story. I voluntarily reviewed a gifted copy of this audiobook.

Sweet, not too angsty

River, an omega, used to be an athlete in high school, and bullied Weston, a quiet and introverted alpha, who never fought against the verbal abuse River and the jock crowd piled on him. A couple of years later, River has come back to town for summer vacation, and agreed to babysit his sister's cat. When Almond, the cat, gets sick due to his carelessness, River rushes to Sunnydale clinic and meets Weston, who is on his way to become a vet. River is guilt ridden and wants to apologize to Weston for his mistreatment, but it takes more than a rushed apology to overcome the years if anger Weston feels. Even though the book touches on bullying, it is not too angsty or serious, Weston and River are too attracted to each other for any real drama to develop, and easily fall for each other and have a very sweet relationship. It is a pleasant story, with some hot scenes, and the couple gets along well and communicates with each other. The narrator did a good job, although sometimes all the male characters sound too alike. Overall, it is sweet with very little drama.
