Summary

Caleb Morales was no stranger to being bullied and discriminated against in his White-dominated school. Spending his school days dreading every waking morning to get out of the comforts of his room and facing kids that hated him for his skin color, he was willing to do anything just to leave his school and shy away from his passion for playing music. He entered sixth grade, expecting the school year to be the same as every year.

Except that he found two friends, one that shared with him the struggles of being a Black kid in a White school, and the other one who was courageous enough to fight back for her new friends, giving them a present that could change their young lives forever.

But along the way, after wishing for a much better and easier life, Caleb slowly began to realize that he didn’t need magic or a glowing stone to make him happy and contented in his life ahead of him. What changed his mind?
