Summary

Introducing his autobiography, A Life in Parts, Bryan Cranston talks to us about embodying the infamous drug kingpin Walter White, the physical and emotional turmoil that comes with being an actor and how a difficult and oftentimes violent upbringing led him to become an unrelenting optimist.

Having first graced our screens at the age of seven, Bryan now has over 150 titles to his name, including Linwood Boomer’s hugely celebrated sitcom Malcom in the Middle and Vince Gilligan’s multiaward-winning Breaking Bad

A fan of short stories, Brian presents A Life in Parts through a series of brief chapters which take the listener through a chronological journey of his life. Also an excellent guide for prospective actors, Brian imparts advice to those who are looking to make their mark in Hollywood.

Is it time to watch Breaking Bad?

I had downloaded quite a few of these audible interviews ( I’ll be honest it was in an attempt to qualify for badges 😂) decided to listen to some and I am pleasantly surprised. I’d never watched any Breaking Bad however I’m now considering it. Bryan’s interview was interesting and relaxed. I’ve even added his book onto my wish list

insightful, human, honest

Cranston always strikes me as honest and very candid about his own work and life. This short introduction to his memoir makes the reader eager to pick up the book - or to get the audiobook.

Great voice

Interesting self revelations from a great but winningly modest actor. Certainly makes me want to hear the autobiography.

Not the best interviewer

Not the best interviewer. Audible requires the additional words as a somewhat silly purile policy.

Inspires me to listen to Cranston’s Memoir!

This interview gave insight to Cranston’s thoughts about the importance of reading and audiobooks, gave some thoughts about Breaking Bad, as well as touched on his Memoir which I’m now very interested in listening to on Audible as it was not only written by Cranston but also narrated by him as well!
I am glad I listened to this interview.

Actors perspective

I wanted to listen to this before I purchased his audiobook. Both this 15-minute audible session and his much longer audiobook are the telling a great story's from Bryan Cranston's career and life.

very short

This is a very short interview. I can't say I thought much of the interviewer, but fortunately Brian Cranston could carry anyone. I enjoyed his memoir and his narration. Bryan Cranston is insightful, modest, and an overall class act.

I will stick a pin in his book, for now.

I don't know a lot of Bryan Cranston's work, although I loved Breaking Bad. I am not sure this interview has inspired me to listen to or read his book, though. The only thing he really mentions is that it is sort of a series of short stories and he touches on Breaking Bad eventually. Add to that the quality of his voice and I am not entirely sure I will be able to stick it out. It may just be for superfans. I don't really know.

Host ruined it

Cranston was insightful and engaging, but the host was such an unprepared dope, no content, no direction, it was like he wasn't even paying attention...

This is only 15 min good but not really worth downloading. This is more of a book promotion.
