Summary

Before Liz Lemon, before "Weekend Update", before "Sarah Palin", Tina Fey was just a young girl with a dream: a recurring stress dream that she was being chased through a local airport by her middle-school gym teacher. She also had a dream that one day she would be a comedian on TV.

She has seen both of those dreams come true.

At last, Tina Fey's story can be told. From her youthful days as a vicious nerd to her tour of duty on Saturday Night Live; from her passionately halfhearted pursuit of physical beauty to her life as a mother eating things off the floor; from her one-sided college romance to her nearly fatal honeymoon - from the beginning of this paragraph to this final sentence.

Tina Fey reveals all, and proves what we've all suspected: you're no one until someone calls you bossy.

Includes special, never-before-solicited opinions on breastfeeding, princesses, Photoshop, the electoral process, and Italian rum cake!

Not for me

I found this to be boring, both in context and the delivery. I expected anything with Tina Fey to be funny.

Boring

There is not even one good story. I couldn't finish. There is not a message, nothing...

Was this supposed to be comedy?

Maybe, being a guy, I missed something here, but this was just not funny at all. Sorry Tina, I really liked you in your shows, but this just didn't do it for me.

Abandoned

I listened for 1 hour and never laughed once. From all the reviews I read, I thought it was going to be a romp full of great laughs. But for me, it was a yawn.

Very disappointed.

I went in looking forward to learning about Tina's journey and about maybe hearing her advice on being a boss and having a family. I felt the story didn't flow, it wasn't funny, it gave no insight on how to be a bossy pants and I felt sad after. It was like reading a very early autobiography without a climax. Would not recommend.

Not Funny

Any additional comments?

Interesting to know a bit about Ms. Fey. But I did not find this funny. Not my style of humor.

Did not like therefore did not finish

Returned. Tried to get into but couldn't, like Tina Fey but not this one. Can't recommend.

Proof That Women Can Be As Vulgar As Men!

What would have made Bossypants better?

Ms. Fey did not need to strive to be as reproachable as her males counterparts.

Has Bossypants turned you off from other books in this genre?

Yes!

What didn’t you like about Tina Fey’s performance?

She's emulating her male counterparts in an effort to show she can be as 'good' as they are. I was hoping she would be less offensive than other humorists, but alas...

What character would you cut from Bossypants?

Tina Fey.
