With a blend of witty confessions and unscientific observations, Mindy writes about everything from being a timid young chubster afraid of her own bike to living the Hollywood life, dating, friendships, and planning her own funeral - all executed with several conveniently placed stopping points for you to run errands and make phone calls.

After a misbegotten part as Jenna on the pilot of 30 Rock, Dratch was only getting offered roles as "Lesbians. Secretaries. Sometimes secretaries who are lesbians." Her career at a low point, Dratch suddenly had time for yoga, dog- sitting, learning Spanish - and dating. After all, what did a forty-something single woman living in New York have to lose?

Everyone would benefit from seeing further into the future, whether buying stocks, crafting policy, launching a new product, or simply planning the week's meals. Unfortunately, people tend to be terrible forecasters. As Wharton professor Philip Tetlock showed in a landmark 2005 study, even experts' predictions are only slightly better than chance. However, an important and underreported conclusion of that study was that some experts do have real foresight.

Mostly true stories by the irrepressible star of the hit Netflix series Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. There comes a time in every actress' life when she is faced with the prospect of writing a book. Ellie Kemper, the star of hit Netflix sitcom Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, first gained attention with a one-woman show, Feeling Sad/Mad, at the UCB Theatre in New York, founded by a comedy troupe that counted Amy Poehler, among others, in its ranks. Kemper's popularity exponentially grew with a regular role in the US version of The Office, followed by appearances in the highly successful Bridesmaids and 21 Jump Street.

In 2009 Malala Yousafzai began writing a blog on BBC Urdu about life in the Swat Valley as the Taliban gained control, at times banning girls from attending school. When her identity was discovered, Malala began to appear in both Pakistani and international media, advocating the freedom to pursue education for all. In October 2012, gunmen boarded Malala's school bus and shot her in the face, a bullet passing through her head and into her shoulder. Remarkably, Malala survived the shooting. At a very young age, Malala Yousafzai has become a worldwide symbol of courage and hope.

So, here is the thing: is it just me or does anyone else find that adulthood offers no refuge from the unexpected horrors, peculiar lack of physical coordination and sometimes unexplained nudity, that accompanied childhood and adolescence? I am proud to say I have a wealth of awkward experiences - from school days to life as an office temp - and here I offer my 18-year-old self (and I hope you, too, dear listener) some much needed caution and guidance on how to navigate life's rocky path.

Britain has been defined by its conflicts, its conquests, its men and its monarchs. To say that it's high time it was defined by its women is a severe understatement. Jenni Murray draws together the lives of 21 women to shed light upon a variety of social, political, religious and cultural aspects of British history. In lively prose Murray reinvigorates the stories behind the names we all know and reveals the fascinating tales behind those less familiar.

The road trip you're dying to take
- By Miss on 13-04-13
Summary
Before Liz Lemon, before "Weekend Update", before "Sarah Palin", Tina Fey was just a young girl with a dream: a recurring stress dream that she was being chased through a local airport by her middle-school gym teacher. She also had a dream that one day she would be a comedian on TV.
She has seen both of those dreams come true.
At last, Tina Fey's story can be told. From her youthful days as a vicious nerd to her tour of duty on Saturday Night Live; from her passionately halfhearted pursuit of physical beauty to her life as a mother eating things off the floor; from her one-sided college romance to her nearly fatal honeymoon - from the beginning of this paragraph to this final sentence.
Tina Fey reveals all, and proves what we've all suspected: you're no one until someone calls you bossy.
Includes special, never-before-solicited opinions on breastfeeding, princesses, Photoshop, the electoral process, and Italian rum cake!

Very disappointed.
I went in looking forward to learning about Tina's journey and about maybe hearing her advice on being a boss and having a family. I felt the story didn't flow, it wasn't funny, it gave no insight on how to be a bossy pants and I felt sad after. It was like reading a very early autobiography without a climax. Would not recommend.

Proof That Women Can Be As Vulgar As Men!
What would have made Bossypants better?
Ms. Fey did not need to strive to be as reproachable as her males counterparts.
Has Bossypants turned you off from other books in this genre?
Yes!
What didn’t you like about Tina Fey’s performance?
She's emulating her male counterparts in an effort to show she can be as 'good' as they are. I was hoping she would be less offensive than other humorists, but alas...
What character would you cut from Bossypants?
Tina Fey.
