Everyone would benefit from seeing further into the future, whether buying stocks, crafting policy, launching a new product, or simply planning the week's meals. Unfortunately, people tend to be terrible forecasters. As Wharton professor Philip Tetlock showed in a landmark 2005 study, even experts' predictions are only slightly better than chance. However, an important and underreported conclusion of that study was that some experts do have real foresight.

When her identity was discovered, Malala began to appear in both Pakistani and international media, advocating the freedom to pursue education for all. In October 2012, gunmen boarded Malala's school bus and shot her in the face, a bullet passing through her head and into her shoulder. Remarkably, Malala survived the shooting. At a very young age, Malala Yousafzai has become a worldwide symbol of courage and hope.

Britain has been defined by its conflicts, its conquests, its men and its monarchs. To say that it's high time it was defined by its women is a severe understatement. Jenni Murray draws together the lives of 21 women to shed light upon a variety of social, political, religious and cultural aspects of British history. In lively prose Murray reinvigorates the stories behind the names we all know and reveals the fascinating tales behind those less familiar.

The road trip you're dying to take
- By Miss on 13-04-13
Summary
Once in a generation a woman comes along who changes everything. Tina Fey is not that woman, but she met that woman once and acted weird around her.
Before 30 Rock, Mean Girls, and 'Sarah Palin', Tina Fey was just a young girl with a dream: a recurring stress dream that she was being chased through a local airport by her middle-school gym teacher. She also had a dream that one day she would be a comedian on TV. She has seen both these dreams come true.
At last, Tina Fey's story can be told. From her youthful days as a vicious nerd to her tour of duty on Saturday Night Live; from her passionately halfhearted pursuit of physical beauty to her life as a mother eating things off the floor; from her one-sided college romance to her nearly fatal honeymoon - from the beginning of this paragraph to this final sentence.
Tina Fey reveals all, and proves what we've all suspected: you're no one until someone calls you bossy.

Finally, an audiobook that knows it's an audiobook
Yes it's funny, very, very funny but if you're a 30 Rock or SNL fan then this is no less than you would expect from Tina Fey. But one of the most amazing things about the audio version is that Tina Fey knows that she is reading an audiobook and uses this to comic effect. I can't think of another book that does this and by acknowledging the medium it really elevates the title to another level. Also, did I mention it's funny, very, very funny.

Do you know Tina Fey?
I certainly didn't before listening to this, aside from the classic Palin sketches. But having recently finished, I'm certainly going to go listen/watch her work. A brilliantly narrated story that had me laughing out loud on many occasions whilst cycling to work and in Sainsburys.
I love the fact she's not just reading from her printed book but has taken the time and thought to make this a unique performance, with brilliant comic timing and acting out of stories, interspersed with clips from her work and references to pictures of her outfits.
Really hope we get more from Tina Fey on Audible soon!

This book is hilarious and I'd recommend it highly, the text is enhanced enormously by being read by Tina Fey herself (although I did laugh out loud a few times whilst walking along the road with my MP3 earphones on, which made me look a little insane, but never mind!).
Have a listen and I doubt you'll be disappointed.

Great Fun
I loved this audiobook. Hearing Tina Fey read her words aloud is a real pleasure. The audiobook is enhanced by sound effects and accents that you wouldn't be able to experience from reading the hard copy of the book. It even contains the Sarah Palin and Hillary Clinton sketch (featuring Fey and Amy Poehler) from SNL, which is hilariously funny. 'Bossypants' is entertaining from beginning to end and made me laugh so much that I cried. I would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys Fey's work and sense of humour.

I found this to be an interesting read, particularly when Tina describes her move into the male-dominated world of comedy. Her writing throughout is strong and witty, just as her TV sketches would lead you to expect.

Why Tina Fey lost a star
Firstly the books brilliant, read brilliantly by the author and dispite the giant man hands, she looks very nice on the cover.
However, all the hard work is slightly let down by audible.this is simply because every time she says "check the acompanying pdf" im left with a growing anoyance that i didnt get one with the download.
Come on audible your supossed to be better than this, maybe a bit of organisation and it would have been the TEN out of five stars audiobook that you and maths have prevented it from being!!

Entertaining listen
Tina Fey is undoubtably a very talented comedian and there are some genuine laugh out loud moments in this book. I did however find some of her humour a little 'forced" at times. By this I mean that some of the stories seem to be exaggerated to maximise their comedic effect. Maybe it's just me but I prefer my comedy to be a bit more believable.

Stick to 30 Rock
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
I love Tina Fey, and enjoyed hearing her life story so far.
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
A lot of names mentioned, but if you're not in the US acting scene, they dont mean much!
How could the performance have been better?
When Tina swears, it sounds so contrived and unnatural. Also the narration basically sounded like her sitting there reading it out. If it's your own story, it should sound a bit more as though she is talking with you not at you. There was no natural tone or intonation.
Was Bossypants worth the listening time?
Was ok, but not great.
Any additional comments?
Unless you're a big fan, i think you will find this a bit so so.

Reading Aloud Not Tina's forté
Is there anything you would change about this book?
The narrator. I am an unqualified TF lover but the narration weakened the delivery. Don't understand why it was so.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Bossypants?
Where she can't cope with the anthrax scare. It touched me as I could feel how scared and despondent she was. She also makes it clear how she admired how her boss Lorne Michael's handled it. The story is just not comedy. There is leadership learning too. It's a great story.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
Tina's reading made it less funny than the print. I love her on screen & in writing but
Do you think Bossypants needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
Definitely because Tina Fey has so much to offer.

All stupid jokes and nothing to say
All stupid jokes and nothing to say. Struggled to finish this, and only ended up doing so because it's too short to abandon (and January is for books).
She's a pretty good narrator. The usual things that are great about when a comedian reads his or her own work are applicable here as well. Nevertheless, I still ended up speeding it up to 1.5x towards the end cos I didn't care about missing anything anymore, and just wanted it to end.

No PDF??
A very funny book probably enhanced by Tina's narration. The only thing that disappointed was that it wasn't longer, and that the frequently referred to PDF doesn't seem to appear with this version - I see that there's an identical version not available to Australians which reviewers say the PDF appears in "My Library" as a link underneath the table, but no such luck with this version - why do we miss out??

Laugh out loud funny!
I love Tina Fey and I love 30 Rock so I was hoping this book was going to meet all my humour expectations if there is such a thing. I was not disappointed. I am not going to give you an intellectual analysis of this book, I am just going to say that it is laugh out loud funny and it was a joy to listen to!!
Unfortunately Tina refers to a PDF several times throughout the book and it does not seem that this has been provided by Audible or whomever. But do not let that stop you from purchasing this audiobook!!!!

Don't listen to this on the train!
If you could sum up Bossypants in three words, what would they be?
Pants wetting funny!
Who was your favorite character and why?
Tina is unabashedly truthful and that is why this audio book is so funny.
Any additional comments?
This audio book had me in stitches. I frequently got strange looks from people on the train when I either laughed out loud or was crying in an attempt to keep the laughter in.

Tine Fey does not dissonant
What did you love best about Bossypants?
I started reading Bossy Pants in an actual book.. but decided to pick it up in Audio Book as I though her voice would really make a difference.. it did! Her narration was fantastic, it really have her story an extra layer of awesome. The additional bits you got from having it read to you also were fantastic, including the recording from some of her stand up. Very very good!
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I laughed out loud to this, and had a sudden urge to watch 30 Rock!

This book is FUNNY!
As a big 30 Rock fan (I don't have cable so my SNL knowledge is limited) I had high hopes for this book and it was terrific. Easily the funniest book I've listened to. I'm sure the print version is funny, but having Tina Fey narrate it as well took it to that next level. You get to hear the book the way it appeared in her head as she wrote it and I laughed from beginning to end. I can't wait for her to write another book. So worth the credit!

Entertaining and Funny
Tina Fey doesn't fail to entertain. It's fascinating to hear her journey in the media industry. Many of her real life experiences could easily be real life SNL and 30 Rock skits...

Holy smokes this book is funny!
What did you like best about this story?
Even though I wasn't overly familiar with Tina Fey when I chose this book, I still loved every second of it. She is funny, witty and insightful!
What does Tina Fey bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
She brings character to the book when she reads it too you and it feels more in depth.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I would of if I could of! I listened to it mainly on buses and trains. Just try not to laugh out loud in public!
