Summary

This second book in William W. Johnstone's classic First Mountain Man series finds Preacher leading a wagon train of settlers into the Rockies - and through dangerous territory. Trapped on the Continental Divide by a blinding snowstorm, Preacher must fend off the gunfire of the wicked Pardee gang, and a band of marauding Utes.

Repeat of Book 1

Book 2 seems somewhat a re-write of Book 1. The main situations are similar, Preacher's reluctant involvement with a wagon train of "gospel shouters", lovestruck woman with marrying eyes on Preacher, band of cutthroat whites gangs joining up with renegade Indians to raid the wagon train. Just different character names.

great book historically accurate

the guns and types of food they had back then and the problems are all very accurate. I've found myself laughing nearly through the whole book.

Hot Dog we’ve found a new series to love!!

Living in the southwest and having traveled so much of the area these books are placed in makes the stories so much more interesting. Knowing how the author researched his material before writing these books, makes them absolutely one of the best series we have listened to. He makes history come alive.

Preacher is ruthless

Great novel about the very early west. Lewis and Clark trail discusses several times. Preacher should star in a movie.
