Story
When Pestilence comes for Sara Burn’s town, one thing is certain: everyone she knows and loves is marked for death. Unless, of course, the angelic-looking horseman is stopped, which is exactly what Sara has in mind when she shoots the unholy beast off his steed. Too bad no one told her Pestilence can’t be killed. Now the horseman, very much alive and very pissed off, has taken her prisoner, and he’s eager to make her suffer. Only, the longer she’s with him, the more uncertain she is about his true feelings towards her, and hers towards him. And now, well, Sara might still be able to save the world, but in order to do so, she'll have to sacrifice her heart in the process.

Chosen from birth to usher in a new era, Poppy’s life has never been her own. The life of the Maiden is solitary. Never to be touched. Never to be looked upon. Never to be spoken to. Never to experience pleasure. Waiting for the day of her Ascension, she would rather be with the guards, fighting back the evil that took her family, than preparing to be found worthy by the gods. But the choice has never been hers.

Being in the Guild is our life…or death. Not everyone is created equal, and not everyone is truly cut out for the work we do. It’s not pretty, it’s not glamorous, and it’s sure as shit not moral or good. The weight of the sins we carry can become too much for some, and they crack. When they do, they become a threat. No one quits the Guild. Not really. Either they cut a deal to make themselves useful in another capacity, or they get eliminated. But who, you might ask, can kill a killer? Who scares the boogeyman into running and hiding? Men like me.

The day I snuck into the infamous Devil’s Ring Fight Club. I had followed my cousin Amelia, who turned out not to be quite as innocent as I first believed. In fact, it turned out she didn’t live in the same world as I did…Not at all. I knew this the moment I entered his kingdom. My world changed the moment he found me. He gave me a warning that night. He told me if he ever found me again then next time, he wouldn’t be so quick in letting me escape him. His little Red Riding Hood. It was a threat I took seriously as it was only my dreams that took me back to that place.

Some people are ordained for greatness. Those people usually have a lot of drama in their life. Drama I happily do without. I live in a forgotten corner of nowhere for a reason: there is safety in anonymity. I have enough problems just trying to get by. But when Kieran, a sinfully sexy demigod at the pinnacle of power, crashes into my life, suddenly my whole world is turned upside down. He’s harboring a deadly secret, one that could destroy all he holds dear. He thinks I’m the key to his salvation, and he wants me to help him claim vengeance. He also wants me with a passion.

Ten years ago, The Harlequin Boys broke my heart. I thought my life was complete with them at my side, the five of us against the world, having each other’s backs no matter what the cost. I’d fight for them until my dying breath. It’s just a shame they didn’t feel the same. Once upon a time, my imperfect world shone bright with the light of four boys I would have killed for. Summary
Nobody can hear your screams from the depths of hell…
Those who survived Halálház never imagined going back. But this isn’t Halálház, this is Věrhăza, and nothing can prepare any of them for this.
With General Markos in control of the new prison, torture and cruelty is taken to a whole new level. But what Brexley is forced to do will not only change her, but the course of the future.
With her abilities starting to show themselves, Brexley risks everything to save those she loves from dying; but in doing so, she exposes her abilities to Istvan.
When she and Warwick are tortured and used as experiments, she finds that Istvan’s deceit and betrayal go far deeper than she could imagine...and Istvan will do anything to stay in control.
As Brexley’s powers grow, so does the hate and darkness inside. Her hands are marked red, her soul heavy in guilt. There has been so much death, pain, and agony.
When does someone break? How much can one person take before the hero turns into the villain?

Utter disappointment
I usually don't write negative reviews, but boy does this deserve one.
Repetitive, unintelligent and unimaginative. Brexley makes dumb decision after dumb decision causing deaths and chaos. Lazy writing, some chapters feel like a copy&paste from the previous books and the whole story is based on the following principle: Dumb decision --> Brexley kidnapped (yes..again, 10,000 times) --> Booom (distraction) --> Warwick saves the day --> sex (repetitive).
If you've read book 1-3, don't bother, you've read it all.

warning entire book in prison
This entire book other then the last few chapters are them in this oppressive god awful prison. 12+ hours of this book and the last hour the break out. Constant kicking our MCs down down and more down. Sooooooo frustrating. This Ishvan dude always getting the upper hand mental break down games and the sick guards always get the win, we have to take the L. I TRULY love this story it has SOOO much potential and I love these characters. But this is way too stretched out, drawn out crap is wrong. We sure as heck could of got the next book to fit in this one.
I suggest just waiting till all audio books are out, then consume this. It's 100% frustrating and hard to get through this. Like I said the entire book is this prison and the awful AWFUL I MEAN AWFUL treatment. And now we have to wait who knows how long to finally see our guys again.
BTW this narrator is amazing.

Where is the plot?
I feel like this was all filler, no plot, and relatively pointless. I like this series, but this book!? What is the point. It even FELT repetitive with the same lines used multiple times. Rather disappointed. I'll still read the last in the series. But this could have been cut from the series and you'll miss next to nothing.

Good story, frustratingly poor writing.
Such a good story, yet so poorly written it hurts. I'm finishing it out of pure stubbornness. It feels like the draft before the final edits. The heroine is so stupid sometimes it's insulting. Her inner dialog is rambling and repeats itself throughout the book. The only thing carrying this series is the gripping story and steamy scenes, but even those are so overdone everytime they lose their power as the series progresses. Honestly I regret starting it and the only thing that kept me going is listening to the audio version. Definitely not bothering reading the final book.

MC makes this book DOA
The series started off so good, even though the MC was SO annoying, the story made up for it. Now I find myself fast forwarding through the chapters because I just can't with her. Between her stupidity and her constant inner monologues, I know this is my last book. RIP
