Best story with Enzo in so far, didn’t like the others nest by far. Can’t wait to read book 4

Great story line

It's some 600 plus books ago that I read the first two Enzo Macleod series books by Peter May so I came to book three with absolutely no remembrance of past events. But it didn't matter - all relevant information is made available again. Not a particularly pleasant character, though most other protagonists seem to like him, Enzo finds his friends and family targetted , presumably to halt his investigation.into any of the other cold cases reported in a book by a journalist friend of one of his two daughter. And I had already solved two of the seven which had appeared there.

Fast action plot with the early chapters being especially intriguing, but given that there is a switch between several timelines and varying points of view, there is inevitably a certain amount of repetition as well as some rather obvious plot twists pretty obvious to the reader but, alarmingly, totally unexpected for the protagonists. For someone fearing for his life and that of his loved ones, Enzo can be pretty dim.

Peter Forbes, as always, gives a good performance, breathing life into the characters and the writing with a delivery which is clear, with gentle emotional adherence to the plot line and adds to the reader's enjoyment. Sasly, although there is a satisfactory ending, there is no actual conclusion. The reader must move onto the following books in the series presumably to get full resolution. So, almost more of a serial. I don't like that unless clearly stated at the beginning. But I guess I will continue to volume 4 at some time in the future

Peter Forbes really does great justice to the excellent writing of Peter may. An extremely formidable team long may they continue.

Great narration.

Well what a journey this book took me on. I was hooked from the word go. For me this book even surpasses the previous two books of this series, of which I loved. The writer is able to suck you in and you believe him. It is brilliantly read by Peter Forbes to the point that I felt I knew him personally and he was telling what was happening. Highly recommend this book

Totally captivating, a real good thriller

A complicated plot, but all of it believable. The characters are already well developed from earlier books in the series, and continue to live through the writer’s power of the pen. His scenes are similarly swiftly and accurately penned. The effect of a cracking yarn is perfected by the superb delivery of the narrator, voicing the characters so well, and giving tension and pace in the action chapters. Now for the next one!

Excellent, as always
