About this listen

Fall in love with Vermont in this USA Today best-selling series.

The last person Griffin Shipley expects to find stuck in a ditch on his Vermont country road is his ex-hookup. Five years ago, they’d shared a couple of steamy nights together. But that was a lifetime ago.

At 27, Griff is now the accidental patriarch of his family farm. Even his enormous shoulders feel the strain of supporting his mother, three siblings, and a dotty grandfather. He doesn’t have time for the sorority girl who’s shown up expecting to buy his harvest at half price.

Vermont was never in Audrey Kidder’s travel plans. Neither was Griff Shipley. But she needs a second chance with the restaurant conglomerate employing her. Okay—a fifth chance. And no self-righteous lumbersexual farmer will stand in her way.

They’re adversaries. They want entirely different things from life. Too bad their sexual chemistry is as hot as Audrey’s top secret enchilada sauce, and then some.

Warning: This stand-alone novel contains growly alpha farmers, gourmet yumminess, a steamy outdoor shower, and proof that farmers don't mind getting dirty.

Stumbled across this looking for a free read that’s actually worth my time. And I think I came across a new favourite author! Great narration and looking forward to the rest of the series!

A new favourite

From the cover alone, this initially looked to be a werewolf shifter romance book. I downloaded this as it included with my audible membership. It was quite an easy listen and narration was good. Not the most exciting or suspenseful story line but characters were likeable enough. Was hoping for an epilogue to round off the story and was a little surprised when ‘the end’ was announced without much of a conclusion and it was this that led me to write this review.

Easy listen, good narration

A very enjoyable performance, and a sweet, captivating story. Side characters are interesting and have development too, not just there to prop up the love story. Although I then was a bit disappointed when the book ended and I was left to wonder what happened to them later. This book did what I always hope from a good romance: made me feel with the characters, both the joy and excitement as well as ache and longing.

Fuzzy warmth and heartache
