Summary

There's a first time for everything.

Lark Wainright used to be fearless. Her life was a series of adventures, each one more exhilarating than the last. But her recent overseas adventure was one too many. Now she’s home and in one piece. Mostly. But her nights are filled with terror.

When her best friend offers her a stay at the orchard in exchange for help at the farmers’ markets, Lark jumps at the chance to spend fall in Vermont. But her nightmares don’t stop. Desperate to keep her fragile state a secret, she relies on the most soft-spoken resident of the Shipley Farm to soothe her when her dreams prove too much.

Zachariah is a survivor, too. It’s been four years since he was tossed aside by the polygamist cult where he grew up. He’s found a peaceful existence on the Shipley’s farm, picking apples and fixing machinery. But getting thrown away by your own people at nineteen leaves a mark on a guy. He doesn’t always know what to make of a world where movie quotes are the primary means of communication. Before hitchhiking to Vermont, he’d never watched TV or spoken on the phone.

Actually, there are a lot of things he’s never done.

Zach and Lark slowly grow to trust one another. One night they become even closer than they’d planned. But Lark may still be too broken to trust anyone. When she pushes Zach away, he will have to prove to himself that he's good for much more than farm labor.

sweet and sexy.

This book is an emotional and adorable story.
Zach and Lark are just so perfect together..
And I am officially in Love with Zach !!!
Keepsake is a compelling read/listen and Zach and Lark are two people who have been through alot of trauma.
We have met Zach in the two previous books,he works for the Shipley farm after he escaped from the horror of living in a cult were he was subjected to a very restricted way of life.
He is so innocent and pure and has to learn how to live outside the walls of a cult..and the Shipley's help him do that, taking him into their family.
He is shy and softly spoken and GORGEOUS !
Lark is escaping from a traumatic event she went through in Guatamala, she needed a safe place to go so she can heal. The Shipley farm was that place where she can go to see her friend Mae also and help out on the Farm while she stays there.
I Loved their story and how close they became starting as friends, but obviously attracted to one another.Until it very slowly turns into more and man when it did turn into more it was super HOT !!
WOWSERS.!!.
Zach is just the best....Honestly he is adorably sweet and unknowingly sexy.Everyone loves him, after living the start of his life in a cult,he never had anything and didn't know anything....No TV...No Books(Gasp)..No cursing..and No SEX...Yes my friends Zach is a Virgin...and it was so funny the banter the other guys on the Farm gave him for it.
But Zach didn't care it wasn't important to him sex was not really something he thought about until Lark.
Lark had experienced an absolutely horrific event in Guatemala and now nightmares plagued her sleep, but she refuses to get help she thinks the farm will help.
She never expected Zach would be her salvation while she was there...everytime she had a nightmare Zach was there like a savior in the night..soothing her while she fell apart.
I loved that about Zach he was always there for everybody and never complained about anything,he was humble and grateful and took nothing for granted.
Zach falls hard for Lark but Lark cannot love Zach until she addresses her PTSD and allows herself to get proper professional help.
Zach and Lark are two broken souls who find solace within eachother and its a very beautiful story to behold.
Erin Spencer and Teddy Hamilton are just SUPERB telling this story I cannot praise their performances enough.
I completely Loved listening to this book and it was so perfect because of Erin and Teddy.
Sarina Bowen's writing is just Excellent and she has made me fall totally in Love with the Shipley family and all the characters in this community.
I cannot stop listening to these stories..
Another phenomenal audiobook that I highly recommend.

Another favourite

Lark and Zach have become my favourite characters from the series so far.

I adored their journey not just together but separately and it's very prominent that Lark needs to work on herself before she can let herself be fully loved by Zach and he completely understands that. His character is so accepting and understanding which is surprising with the background he's escaped from and Lark needs that after all the turmoil she's ensued which caused her to take leave from work.

Sarina has written such a good take on a guy virgin and I loved how it was dealt with. There was still the humour that Sarina is so good at and heart warming moments. Seeing all the family together again always warms my heart and makes me want to stay in this world forever.

Unusual pairing of characters, beautifully written

A beautiful romance between Zach, who grew up in a cult, and Lark, who has just returned from charity work overseas where she was subject to a horrific kidnapping experience. Both had been damaged by their experiences, and both were struggling to find their place in the world. Lark was hoping that she could escape the nightmares of PTSD with hard work and avoidance and I loved that the writer did not fall for the overused "love will conquer all" trope, and showed that even surrounded by people who love you, sometimes mental health issues, in this case PTSD, really do need professional help.
