About this listen

From animosity to searing passion in a lunar cycle...but can their bond survive?

Wolf shifter Nathan Kohl's pack is his whole life. Arrogant and handsome, he avoids commitment to anything or anyone outside of his pack. He works hard, plays hard, and pursues humans as lovers because there's little to no chance of him forming a permanent bond. However, when Jared Taylor comes into Nathan's life, every rule is broken.

After a bad experience, Jared vowed to never get involved with another shifter, no matter how much they got under his skin. Despite being physically attracted to Nathan, who's all kinds of hot, Jared only sees an arrogant, domineering bastard.

A disastrous case of mistaken identity throws Nathan and Jared together until the next full moon. Forced to spend the next twenty-eight days in close proximity, they can no longer ignore the powerful attraction between them. Passion ignites, and their relationship takes a turn neither of them wanted.

But when the full moon comes, everything might change again.

Contains mature themes.

I had high hopes for this audiobook, however, the robotic narration and lack of emotion in Antony Ferguson's voice made this difficult to listen to. He can't do accents and so all of the characters sound the same, bland, lacklustre, indistinct. The story was good, although a little unnecessarily over-complex, I'll choose the ebooks to continue the series. I think SIRI would give the characters more feeling.

Robotic narration. I thought it was AI

I really enjoyed the book. It had an interesting storyline and the narrator was good. While there wasn't a huge difference between the voices of the characters, I was still able to tell who was speaking during their conversations. Overall, it was a good listen.

Good book

I really love these two! I was so interest and also extremely scared for these two boys…I was waiting for the absolute worse by the end.

*Spoiler warning*

I was a little disappointed the bite mark didn’t fully happen I’m not sure how I feel about the half and half effect, but I’m glad the Nate bond lasted.

I was so fascinated!

I liked the story, however there were too many untied loose ends by the end & it felt more HFN than HEA to me

Now, I don't know if this was the author's choice (I've seen on SM posts that authors sometimes request that narrators mispronounce words on purpose, which is a ridiculous practice as only the narrator comes off as being ludicrous... it's kinda like trying to make "fetch happen", IYKYK) or the narrator's weird pronunciation, but it took me FAR TOO long to realise that the narrator meant BETA (bey-tah or beh-tah), not BEATER as he was pronouncing it!

I thought, as they were a gang of sorts, that they had assigned Bruisers & their official name was Beaters 🤷‍♀️

Part of said "Beaters" was Alec who was the big bad... but all of a suddenly he was MIA, never to be seen or heard from again. Looking at the synopsis for the rest of the series, he gets his own story, so I can only assume that the author changed his mind about his plans for him in this story.

There was a traitor in their midst who was never unmasked.

I loved Jared & Nathan, they were adorably a mismatched pair at first & slowly they started coming together more & more. I kinda wish the ending had been both different (the bond remained, but a new solution was needed) & a lot more fleshed out than it was.

I'm not too happy to see that Luke doesn't get his own HEA, as he was such a fundamental of Nathan & Jared sorting out their issues. He seems to be ride or die for Nathan & I really hope he doesn't suffer a bad fate 😢

Having said all that... it's definitely worth a listen!
