Summary

In Beyond the Breakwater, the sequel to Safe Harbor, Sheriff Reese Conlon and Doctor Tory King face the challenges of personal change as they define their lives and future together. Dr. Tory King’s pregnancy forces her to examine her personal needs and goals while her partner, Sheriff Reese Conlon, struggles with her escalating anxieties over conditions she cannot control. Twenty-year-old Brianna Parker makes a sacrifice for love that threatens not just her happiness, but her life, when she returns home as the newest member of the Sheriff's department. A life-threatening accident, a suspicious fire, and the appearance of more than one woman vying for Bri’s attentions makes one Provincetown summer a time of transformation as each woman learns the true meaning of love, friendship, and family.

Story could covered a lot of old ground

The novel is the second in a series which involved a police office Reese , and a doctor Tory. It also includes the young couple Brianna and Carolyne. It follows on from the first nove with Reese and Troy planning for a baby, while Brianna and Carolyne go with a difficult patch with conflicts between each others long term happiness. I enjoyed the story and the different dramatic events but I found it hard to get emotionally connected with the story as it did not introduce any new relationships or main characters. It does however follow on from the first and provides a nice conformable read in the quaint but 'dangerous' Provincetown. if you liked the first and enjoyed the characters, and want to read happens next in their lives, then you will enjoy the novel.

baby

I saw some negative reviews expecting another "honour" series action, but this isn't supposed to be, it's a continuation romance, lovingly written for two couples with lifes' normal angst, even the narration is better- needs character vocabulary still. the anguish of birth is terrifying to us dad's (or second mum), I have 5 but the 4th was a nightmare, that moment doctor says make a choice or be prepared for worst!! Radclyffe writes the whole situation brilliantly as true to life from all characters, my tears for story and memory almost 30yrs on.

Very Radclyffe......

Very Radclyffe, so much sex that the story gets lost a bit. I like the series but a bit more story and a little less sex please !
Tori and Reece are great characters !

Good story

I enjoyed this as a follow up to the initial book however, I don't feel it needs as many very detailed sex scenes. Otherwise really good

Quite a good story but characters are sex obsessed

Yes, sex is important in relationships but the way this lot carry on it is like a porn movie where almost every interaction ends in sex. I think the author, Radclyffe, means the sex to be erotic but due to the characters lack of any real emotional depth, which means they come across as cardboard cutouts, the effect of all the sex is boring rather than erotic.

Loved the book - love the audio version even more!

The Provincetown series has long been a favourite. The books are fantastic and the audio version adds another angle which is more intimate than the written word.
Nicol Zanzarella is one of my favourite narrators. It’s a win win situation. ☺️
